Resto guide has been updated for 85. It's up here for review: Linky. I've updated sections IV b-e today.

It contains: PvE Talent build, breakdown of talents, Basic Stat Values, Haste #s for extra HoT ticks, Glyphs, spell breakdown, hints and tips, basic PvP stuff.

Stuff it is lacking:

Low level stuff: I'm assuming you pretty much roll RJ on the tank and spot heal with Healing Touch and Regrowth when needed, while saving Swiftmend for emergencies. But it would be cool if someone who is leveling right now could give some feedback.

Good PvP info: I PvP little, most of the advice is second-hand from those who do it more and/or better. Leave this for the PvP forum perhaps? Or wait till more people are doing it at 85?

I think you missing a Rejuv haste point or three, as it goes from 900 to 3900 for extra ticks.

Looks good so far, will try and get feral/boom going on the wiki in the first week or so and redo the sticky the 13th or 14th in case they hot fix something in a big way.

Naw there's nothing else in that region. So many fewer ticks on RJ these days so you don't get as many break points. There's also a an extra tick for LB at 5% haste and WG at about 7.5% haste that I don't have on the list at the moment (they'd be prior to the first RJ break point), I should probably grab numbers on those too, they just weren't specifically listed in treecalcs.

The hell, is Nature's Grace worth anything? You need to cast a Regrowth (inefficient heal) to get 15 seconds of 15% spell haste every minute? I mean, I get why you'd go for it. 15% spell haste sounds sexy, but Regrowth is really inefficient, especially without Nature's Bounty. Not to mention it takes up a GCD that could be spent casting Rejuvenation on someone.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure you've done the research and it's theoretically worth it, but it seems awkward as crap to me. Casting a highly inefficient direct heal every minute to amplify your HoTs. The lack of symbiosis here is clawing at my mind.

Well at least we have the option to cast Regrowth now, was even worse before when it was a moonfire only proc. Was like a pally healer judging (although this made it easier to trigger only when you wanted to). Smiley: frown

Now it's really only worth it because the second tier of the balance tree is so strong. Not to diminish a 15% haste proc, that's a fairly sizable increase to healing, but there was a reason people avoided Nature's Grace at 80.

I'm guessing they only added the Regrowth proc because that spell is seriously lacking any reason to cast it without 3 talent points in Nature's Bounty.

I haven't pretended to be resto in years.

The only thing then would be to change them to % instead of rating, maybe both idk could be excessive, as the % value changes with raid buffs, procs and other fun stuff.

Break points that will be hard to not meet at level 85 should be ignored, starting at ~900 is fine, I can't realistically see having a lower haste rating. I mean if you avoided haste like the plague maybe but resto druids shouldn't be doing that anyway.

The problem is that the spreadsheet is on the old computer which is lacking input devices, Internet access and easily accessible USB slots, so while I can start it up, I can't really get the file from it without a lot of trouble.

Give me values (% per talent point, % per buff, % per rating, cast times) and I can make a new one for you, it would probably be fairly simple to make.

I think I have a copy of that over here. Hastey Spreadsheet.ods from July 2010? Or is there a newer version?

Edit: Also updated numbers.

Quote:
Numbers assume raid buffs. The first Lifebloom tick comes free with the +5% haste raid buff.

Haste # / Haste % /Spell
- / 0% / Lifebloom
256 / 2% / Wild Growth
915 / 7.15% / Rejuvenation
1,220 / 9.53% / Lifebloom
1,423 / 11.05% / Regrowth
2,004 / 15.62% / Wild Growth
2,440 / 19.05% / Lifebloom
3,659 / 28.58% / Lifebloom
3,746 / 29.24% / Wild Growth
3,964 / 30.95% / Rejuvenation

That would be it, haven't been playing lately so I probably haven't updated it. The only update I did at some point was to assume the GCD is always 1s or higher, so if that is in there, it's the most recent version. Feel free to upload it; I can still try to put something new together on the train tomorrow if I feel motivated enough. Longish journey, going to Wales for the day.

I put Cataclysm on my wishlist, so I won't be getting it for a couple of weeks either.

Not that it bothers me. For some reason, this expansion just doesn't excite me all that much. Sure, flying in Azeroth and all will be nice, but it's not really exciting to me anymore. Which is odd, considering it's probably the most game-changing expansion since the game hit the streets.

I guess I'm just not in a rush to do anything. I want to make a Worgen Druid at some point, but I don't see why it can't wait until after I've leveled up my Warrior and Death Knight. Even if they stop at level 80.

My Warrior got 18 levels in 1 minute, because I'm awesome like that.

Well, she died and became a Death Knight, but you know.

Also, rushing to 85 is silly. Glad I'm waiting a couple of weeks to even bother with the expansion. Having too much fun leveling up lowbies. Smiley: lol

I'm willing to bet that all but the very worst servers have a 500+ queue right now.
I remember the day of BC launch Aerie Peak (a medium populated server) has a queue of 2000 or more.
