I was Internet-less for the whole weekend. It broke down just as I had discovered Amsterdam University College had opened applications and registered on their website.

Fast forward to today, I go and start that application in college, and discover that I need to do a few write ups.

1) A personal statement. Okay, you need that for most universities, but this one has to be twice as long as the UCAS one.
2) An "application essay". Basically three very heavy questions, pick one, write 750ish words on that. I picked one (has got to do with environmental science) and immediately went to the college's environment office. Turns out the guy working there likes Japan. I was talking to him when he told someone (the local sensei) on the door "ちょっと まってください" which was especially bad because I actually understood it.
3) If I choose to apply for a scholarship, which is the only way I can afford this path, I have to write some sort of letter, as well, and I have no clue how to go about that. Plus that scholarship is on the condition of maintaining a GPA of 3.0 at the very least over every year.

Well it does look a little more like a tree...

I was hoping for tusks though. Smiley: frown

Of course there's always this:

Messing with player models is always risky and we know the current Tree of Life model is one of those things that is either loved or hated. That is why, as promised, we are offering a minor glyph if you just prefer the older, treant-based, version of ToL.

I think it looks more like a cooldown, at least.

Just woke up so my opinion might differ tomorrow.

So far I'm actually preferring healing over anything else with my Druid.

Tanking was, to be frank, a bit of a blow to the gonads. Without Swipe spam, heroics and raids are pretty much impossible. I know we're supposed to do CC and all that jazz, but how the hell do you CC 5+ mobs? The WotLK dungeons were designed around mass pulls and AOE.

The changes to the tanking rotation didn't seem to do what I had hoped. Ignoring Pulverize and the flustercuck it can do to your TPS if you don't get it right, it's basically just Mangle and Maul spam again, except now we have to click Maul instead of putting it in a macro. No rage issues in the 5-man heroic I ran, so it's not like I have to pick and choose. I spammed Lacerate, Swipe, Mangle and Maul for 20 minutes and won the game.

Haven't tested Kitty yet, but I went with the Lolferal build, so I'll give it a go. Word on the street says Kitty DPS is below intended levels and is getting fixed. I still don't get what they want us to do with Ravage. I think I'll call it a PvP thing and just ignore it from now on.

I'm sort of loving healing, though. Despite not really knowing what the hell they want us to do with Nourish, Healing Touch and Regrowth, since the spike damage in WotLK heroics is still too frequent and violent to just sit there and cancelcast for hours. I get that Nourish is the slow and puny heal, with Regrowth being the fast and puny heal, and Healing Touch being the slow and massive heal. I did manage to get some Nourish crits of up to 10k, so it's not as useless as I first thought (and it definitely has a niche in tank healing). I guess I just can't see a reason for all those direct heals when our focus is on healing over time. Lifebloom and Rejuvenation on the tank, with a Wild Growth and Swiftmend (for Efflorescence) tossed in there whenever you feel bored, and I haven't had to use direct heals much.

My Shaman was utilizing all three heals (apparently all healing classes now have three direct heals to choose from, like the above), but the Shaman class is also more of a direct healing class.

Tranquility is just beast, though. It healed me for 40k without buffs and anything. And it heals up to five people now (in the entire raid), so that's 200k healing in 8 seconds (before haste). That's a HPS of 25,000.

Woot! Back from Italy. Lots of Pizza, Pasta, Red Wine & Muscato desert wine.

My new kindle got a workout as well - 7 books read.

Then I get back and have to download a 5gig+ patch, play for 24hrs and my 10gig limit for the month is gone with 3 weeks to go :(

And my back up 3G net cuts out every 5 mins playing WOW - it was a painful weekend, but I have respecced & relearnt how to play 7 of my 10 characters - only 8 specs to go (the disadvantage of dualspeccing so many alts!)

I wasn't expecting him to go all EJ, but they've been getting a lot crap lately. It's enough to make the o-boards popcorn worthy for a while me-thinks. Seriously the guy deserved the ban though...

blah blah blah, I'm bored. So it turns out I still know how to play my druid, but then feral tanking and healing hasn't really changed that dramatically yet.

Oh yeah, tanking is pretty much the same, except you can't deal with any AOE situations, which is like every dungeon from level 10 and up. Body-pulling and being grouped with DPS and healers who hadn't read all of the patch notes allowed me to vent a bit, though. Good stuff, saves me money that would've gone to a therapist anyway.

Is it really that bad? I mean I've just been giving the tank an extra second or two then launching into AoE spam like normal. But I'm doing this in Resto Spec and such so that probably doesn't count...

Ya sure, I need help eating up leftovers before they all go bad anyway. We'll pull out the air mattress and you can spend the night. Just don't mind the cat, she likes to sleep on your face and try and suffocate you. Kind of friendly like that.

AoE tanking is fairly miserable for me right now. The main reason being that nameplates aren't working properly which combined with tab targeting targeting mobs that are yellow or 30 feet away makes the whole thing rather cumbersome.

The healer is usually way behind the DPS in threat per second, because heals don't do nearly as much threat as damage. "Back in the days" I could usually hold aggro against your random AOE happy DPS, unless it was a Shadowmourne Warrior/Paladin or a T10 Fire Mage. The problem now is that Swipe is on a cooldown, so instead of spamming it as you gather the mobs, making sure you get initial aggro, you have to rely on Demoralizing Roar and the DPS to not open up the way they've been doing it for the last four years.

While TBC required CC because a group of mobs would kill the tank, it looks like Cataclysm will require CC because the tank can't handle that many mobs. Not a direction I'm a fan of. I'm all for getting rid of AOE, but anything more than three mobs and the Druid is just so far behind Paladins and Death Knights. Remember, the Death Knight can still spam Blood Boil. Hell, one talent even gives them a chance of a free Blood Boil. And they still have their Death & Decay for a "fire and forget" AOE threat source.

Druids will have Thrash at level 81, but seriously, 81 levels before you get your real AOE tanking tool? Are they going to redesign the dungeons up to level 81 to not include large packs of mobs every pull? I'm sure they won't, so Druids will be a pain in the *** to tank with until level 81.

Imagine if your Restoration Druid had to work with just Lifebloom for 80 levels. Not great.

Oops, my bad. Should have said I was DPSing in resto spec.

It happens on AoE trash. I more or less go RJ -> LB -> Hurricane -> repeat and let the other healer heal for a bit... Smiley: lol

Still that doesn't sound like fun. I've yet to try my feral out.

That's not EJ yet, EJ would be that statement with added insults for a post that wasn't bad but didn't add much and had a few spelling and grammar errors.

Hell, I got temporarily banned on EJ because I answered a stupid question with a link and a go read this and figure it out.

Edit: also, sounds like Feral tanking is ****** and hunters are going to be a ********* for the next few months while Blizzard nerfs and buffs them every other patch and add that to the fact that it still sounds like CC won't be happening much in instances and any sort of desire I may have had to play WoW again is gone.

Yeah, awesome.

Not that I'd have time for WoW even if I wanted to play it.
I canceled my Champions Online subscription too because I only played for about 1 hour last month and that's not worth €12.50 to me.

Haven't been playing too much the last few days as have a friend visiting from Korea. But one of the main problems was the nameplate issue. Some one on wow general posted the fix, I am excited to try again as that was one of the main problems I was having.

/console bloattest 1

Should bring back the action bars.

Going to try and test that out but still may try out Tidy Plates as they look sexy.
