My perfect beer is dark, real deep brownish-black. The darker the better.

There should be a lot of body to it, and a being even a little bitter helps. Nice to have a bit of a bite when you drink it. Not a lot, that's just no good; but just a little.

But I'm weird like that...

That is not weird.

I mean, I live in England. Most good English beers are like that.

That what beer is supposed to be. Well except for beach drinking but that's why we have Corona.

The thread is boring because I'm not playing WoW at the moment. I logged on, did a daily dungeon and battleground, then spent five minutes looking at my character list, then logged off.

Really, the game is boring. PvE is sort of pointless when you're already wearing the good stuff, and farming for some chance-in-hell 25-man drop is not really all that hot with Cataclysm on the horizon. PvP still gives me a mild chuckle, but there's only so much I can do to win it when I'm teamed up with morons.

And the thought of grinding 1500 Arena Points just to get some better PvP gear is sort of meh when I'm doing great with what I already have. Especially since no matter how many Arena Points I get, I still can't get a ******* PvP weapon without going into the Arena. And I loathe the Arena. Multiplayer dueling is just epic boring.

Yeah.

I can't get better gear, really, without getting better Inet first, and the same goes for any sort of progression raiding, gear getting or not.

As progression raiding was my main "thing" in the game, and both my paladin and my death knight want their gathering skills leveled before I do anything real on them, I just don't feel like playing at all at the moment.
#3082 Sep 24 2010 at 5:05 PM Rating: Good
My main is a bit the same at the moment. We have our 10 man drakes and have done everything except HM LK, which I think most of us feel may be a bit beyond us with Aussie Latency (we'll give it a go though). Didn't have our best team the other night, so we went and got our Ulduar10 drakes (Yog1 was a bit of a challenge after not doing the fight for ages) then went and killed Algalon (only 2 of the raid had ever seen the fight before). That was a bit of fun.

On the other hand, gearing up my alts is keeping me interested - there is always another toon just a few frosties away from another T10 piece. My worst geared toon of the 10 is at 4850 GS and it ranges right up to my mage at 5950 :) I want to at least get them all into ICC before we hit the expansion, but people are asking for higher and higher GS's for ICC now so it may not happen.

That and they fact I leave for Italy tomorrow for 3 weeks..... :)

What doing in Italy? Drink wine and eat plenty for me either way.

I've also been messing around with alts more as the xpac goes on seems more satisfying than hitting the same wall over and over elsewhere.

It's strange how alien actual WoW discussion is to me now. It really feels like something from a far and distant past, only without the nostalgia feelings I have when I read/hear about Magic: The Gathering.

Be scared.

I used to rock a Full English Breakfast deck.
Not the strongest, most stable or quickest deck or really all that viable for tournaments but each time it worked it was a hell of a lot of fun.
I also played a Magnavore/land control deck for a while in tournaments when it was viable just because the frustration of my opponents when you deny them pretty much all their resources was awesome.

I do kind of miss the game, but I never liked the new layout and they started adding too much uninteresting and/or wacky stuff that killed the game for me.

I stopped playing shortly after what ever xpac had Necro in it, I forget.

I liked the game as the strategy component was high but getting rare cards was expensive and I got into sex, drugs and rock n roll so stopped playing.

I think it was a good decision.

Even after that since I had Gameboy I would play Pokemon for the same reason. Breeding them to have spells they shouldn't to start and always abusing Umbreon with Psychic.

lulz

Getting rare cards wasn't such a problem. Getting a lot of them the moment they were released was truly expensive.
And playing tournaments means that you had to do just that. For each new expansion.

Aside from my Full English Breakfast deck I probably had the most fun playing crap rare booster drafts.
Making decks out of those weird *** and mostly useless rares was cool and because everyone had over 45 craprares anyway the cost of those tourneys was just the price for the winner.

I learned how to play Magic at PAX; it was fun.

Not sure if I want to get into the ridiculous expense involved in deck building though lol. Being a D&D player is expensive enough already.

Just playing Mtg for fun isn't expensive. The expensive parts come with wanting to be competitive.
That said, if you are interested in playing, check if there's a gamestore (as in tabletop games) close to you where you can play. The game is **** without people to play against.

The store where I play D&D does open play magic days as well, I've thought about going out there sometime. I only have the starter deck they gave us though and it's only 30 cards, not sure what else to buy to make a usable deck :S

Every new expansion of the game includes new starter decks that cost something like $15 or so I think.
Although those won't be good they'll be a nice starting point.
Booster draw tournaments are also relatively cheap but you do need to have enough of a grasp of the game to build decks from scrap and be able to judge how strong cards are in that environment.

No. I'm the photographer.
I need minions to set things straight for me and rearrange stuff so I just have to take the picture and direct.

I'm seriously starting to understand how Annie Liebowitz ended up with a dozen or more assistants for her photos.
