OL purples are fine to start, and you will pick up new gear quickly running Northrend. As far as staying holy goes, you're right you're going to do what feels best to you but I suggest trying something new, and disc is fine for healing.

So Ive started Northrend as Disc. I havent gone into an instance yet as I'm still getting a feel for the spec via quests. So far I am very impressed. I like the option of using Penence as a damage spell. PW:S - Holy Fire - PW:P - Penence is a nice little rotation =). I am very very excited to heal as a disc priest.

/10 is use gloves (i have that engi haste enchant on). I have no idea what the script code does, i'm not ashamed to admit it's a straight copy and paste job ^^; but it works and that's all that matters :P

The lines "/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()", "/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear(); UIErrorsFrame:Show()", "/console Sound_EnableSFX 0", and "/console Sound_EnableSFX 1" basically make it so that if you get an error message, such as "spell is not ready" by pressing it while Inner Focus or a trinket is on CD, you will get neither an error message or the error sound.
