shadow priest will love this in pvpFollow

Shadow Affinity: Now also causes you to receive 5/10/15% of your base mana when your Shadow Word: Pain or Vampiric Touch spells are dispelled.

I dont know about the rest of you, but when I spread the love with shadow pain to everyone in sight this will be a wonderful. Instead of watching your spell just be dispeled by the nasty overpowered pallys and such I will actually be gaining mana back. 15% of my mana back from dispelling one spell is big, so is the fact that this will also happen

Vampiric Touch: When dispelled, Vampiric Touch will deal damage to the afflicted target.

Add the fact that dispersion clears all snares and such, there will be glyph to lower the cooldown on dispersion by 45 seconds and that we now get a new powerful fear/disarming spell and that our time spells now will crit and I am a happy camper

15% of your base mana is returned. SW:P costs 25% of your base mana. VP costs 16%. It helps, but it isn't that big.

Edit: I am interested in you saying that timed spells will crit, don't know if you mean DoTs or channeled spells, I am going to have to read the patch notes to find out what you're referring too.

Edit v2.0: Ok read up on it, didn't see anything specific about DoTs can now crit, but the revision to mind melt increases periodic crit chance, which to me means that they can now crit. That's a pretty major change, I foresee tons of QQ about warlocks again, brings back some fond memories.

actually shadow pain costs 22% so with 15 percent back we will only lose 7 percent. This will make a big difference I think. Certainly will help us last longer as far as mana goes. Especially if your hanging back casting on everyone.

Mind Melt: Now also increases the periodic critical strike chance of your Shadow Word: Pain, Devouring Plague and Vampiric Touch spells by 3/6%

From what I understand, each tick each spell will have the chance to crit.

Yeah, that was a ***** up on my part, clicked the wrong rank of SW:P.

Only reason I don't see it as a huge help is that the state of arena right now is burst, not longevity. Mana tends to not be that big of an issue when people tend to die in 5 seconds. It helps, and maybe with some new season gear arena will be less of a burst fest, but how it is now, I see it as a minor boost.

The two biggest boosts I see for shadow are the Imp Devouring Plague and Vampiric Embrace changes.

With no CD on VE you can macro it to cast on everyone you cast SW:P or Devouring Plague on. That's some nice survivability, especially in 5v5.

Even better, is that Shadowform will reduce all damage by 15%, not just physical.

One of the changes to Shadow Form is that it will allow DoTs to crit. Should make things interesting.

Another major change is that VT is going to be getting an Unstable Affliction-like quality:

Quote:
Vampiric Touch: When dispelled, Vampiric Touch will deal damage to the afflicted target.
