I've been playing wow for a very long time. Not once have I tried arena though. I'm currently holy with no pvp gear. With everyone that I know now trying hard to do the arena, I've gotten the itch.

Where should I go to get geared for pvp?? and what type of partner should I look for?? would it be better to going back to being a tank first??

If your level 80 you can acquire PvP gear a few ways. You can save emblems of heroism or valor and spend them on PvP gear This is sold in dalaran at the emblem quartermasters. You can complete BGs like EotS, AB or WSG for honor which can also purchase a baseline set of pvp gear which can be purchased from the PvP vendors in Orgrimmar or Stormwind.

Depending on what spec you want to play will decide what classes will work better for you. Speccing healer would usually require your partner to be a dpser of sorts. Speccing Ret for dps may require you to look for a healer although it is possible to partner up with another dpser too.

I wouldn't advise you to spec Protection though. Paladin tanks are not good in PvP at all.
