So for the last few weeks I've been rockin' 4/5 Tier 7 Valorous gear (skipped the pants since you can't see them anyway and I have Leggings of Fleeting Moments which IMO are better). An absolutely awesome set of gear, great 2 and 4 piece bonuses, great stats. And a freakin' amazing look, I've loved just standing around looking cool almost as much as I have been effective at raiding as a dps due to the gear.

Last night in my guild's heroic Naxx and Malygos runs I acquired several new pieces of gear, mainly because nobody wanted them and I'd passed numerous times before. Frosted Adroit Handguards, Cover of Silence and Tunic of Indulgence. I opted for them because of the huge boosts in hit rating. With a bit of re-gemming I'm now hit capped for the first time in my druid career.

And...I LOOK HOMELESS. The cool factor is completely gone as all that's left now are the Valorous shoulders. The pants look like cut off jeans and all the new pieces are a very dull, boring grey color. AND I LOOK F---NG HOMELESS. It's awful. My guild was making fun of me all night and saying I needed to put the Valorous gear back on. But I won't. Not to just look cool at the expense of my raiding effectiveness.

So a note to Blizzard. Can you please make the best gear look awesome, I think we'd all greatly appreciate not looking like we got dressed in the dark or live in the back alleys of Stormwind surviving off the apples the townsfolk throw at new DKs.

Only request I'd make is a good pair of knuckle-gloves. And nipple ring customization. Then you're

Get a mod like Outfitter that can automatically equip a town outfit whenever you enter a town. Any time you are out of town you are in one of our forms anyway :)

I had my 8/8 Feralheart set up as my town outfit for ages and got heaps of comments on it. Unfortunately, the life of a druid interferes and I had to put it back in the bank so I could carry around all my sets of gear :(

A buddy of mine in the other big alliance raiding guild always runs around in his t2 set. I LOVE the moose look, it's very druidly.

@Tavarde:
Sry to say but:
- Cover of Silence = Crap
- Pants = Crap compared to T7.5
- Cloak = if u are rocking naxx25 get a new one, not really that good cloak
- Ring: why ruthelessness??? get strong-hardened ring = + 41 HIT
- Belt: get Belt of the Tortured = +50 HIT

Im running around with 4 piece T7.5 and am at 7.50% HIT.

That's kind of funny you say all that because I've had a plan to acquire certain pieces to up my hit while not sacrificing any of my tier 7.5, but for the last month none of those pieces have dropped. So when I saw the opportunity to reach hit cap at the expense of some of my 7.5, I jumped at it and figured I'd live with it until the actual items I wanted finally dropped.

Even funnier how you make it sound like it'd be so easy to just get all the exact stuff I'd need. Sure, let me just walk up into Naxx, Malygos and Sartharion + drakes and cherry-pick the drops. How silly of me to have not thought of that before!

I agree that guy's attitude needs a readjustment, but how much has your DPS gone up with being hit capped? He has a point: if you had the tier 7 helm it would be a very bad idea to drop it for a hit heavy helm lacking a meta. Meta gems are awesome. They're worth over 100 DPS JUST for the meta gem. I highly HIGHLY doubt 50 hit rating will give you 100 DPS.

Also, you need to consider how much the 4pc bonus is worth. I personally have no idea, as I'm not a cat. If you're tanking, then keep the tier bonus. That's 3 more second every minute of great mitigation.

Also, have you looked into using hit food? You're probably already doing so, but that can help.

I personally wouldn't sacrifice tier gear, but I don't try to optimize. If you're trying to go for the best of the best, run some recounts on target dummies in a city with your different gear types. See what the truly best set-up is.

I've noticed a slight improvement to my DPS but nothing that would necessarily justify complete lack of set bonuses. Last night I re-re-gemmed my 7.5 chest (I'd turned it into a tanking chest then back to DPS) so I could continue wearing it and my hit dropped to 8.05%, as I discovered I was 1% overcapped with all the items I'd gotten. I was having a little difficulty keeping my rotation going without the 2 piece bonus to Rip duration. So far I'm not missing the 4 piece bonus which lowers my Tiger's Fury cooldown but if there is a way for me to return to 4 pieces of 7.5 I have every intention of doing so. It just requires the following items:

1. Surge Needle Ring - Malygos

2. Strong-Handed Ring - Patchwerk

3. Dawnwalkers - Anub'Rekhan

4. Belt of the Tortured - Patchwerk

5. Leggings of the Honored - Sartharion + 2

I also have my eye on Idol of Worship off Grand Widow Faerlina but that isn't a significant factor, just a higher item level idol so I can get the Epic achievement.

The one time that ring dropped I was at work. As for the other 4, I've yet to see any of them drop, ever. And I've been on every one of my guild's raids since Lich King came out. Kind of annoying really, I have more than enough DKP (we call it Karma) to buy all of those if they should drop in the same run without worry of competition from leather wearing guildies. Never seen any of them once...

Same problem for me with not seeing many items. I'm sick of tanking with my blue staff, but so far my guild has never even seen it.

@Tavarde
I just thought from my point of few.
The strong-hardened-ring can drop from any first boss in each quarter in naxx. (drops every run 1-2 times in my guild)
And i assumed that u have been doing naxx25 for some time now looking at your equip.

Also the belt of the tortured droppes pretty frequently. saw it about 6 times now. 3 times dissed :-(

If u have that kind of bad luck with dropps im sorry if i sounded rude or something.
I just assumed these items are "easy to get"-ones.

And yep:
The T7.5 helm with meta-gem is far superior to any other headpeace currently ingame.
I would even go so far to say, use a +HIT potion + the T7.5 helm.

If u want to compensate HIT then go for the boots from Argent Crusade exalted -> 51 AGI / 66 HIT / ~120 AP is really nice.

Ouch, a blue? You should probably make it a priority to run Heroic VH every day, as the end boss drops the Staff of Trickery, which is great until you get an upgrade from 10-or-25-man Naxx.

This staff is his blue . I am guessing but probably right.

Go for the Trickery , if the rest of your gear is good, which I would guess is, than the added threat will be better than the slight mitigation edge the blue has.

Or be super lucky like me and get both plague staffs from Naxx10 in the same night.

Correct, I am using the Enraged Feral Staff for tanking and have Black Ice for DPS at the moment :)

I had Enraged Feral staff for awhile, took me about 2 weeks of doing VH everyday before I finally got the Staff of Trickery. I got all excited, got mats for mongoose, enchanted it and proceeded to be happy.

That was on a Monday. Tuesday is our Naxx10 Full Clear. Staff of the Plaguehound Dropped. I won. I got all excited, got mats for mongoose, enchanted it and proceeded to be a little happier.

Saturday is our Naxx 25 first half run. The Undeath Carrier Dropped. I won. I got all excited, got mats for Mongoose, enchanted it and proceeded to realize I'd wasted waaaay to much gold on Mongoose mats.

But...as our great Horsemouth has proclaimed....Mongoose is like enchanting your weapon with Sex.... I can't pass that up.

Interesting, I too had Enraged Feral Staff and then Staff of Trickery. Although I never put Mongoose on them. When I got Origins of Nightmare, after almost having an ****** from winning the roll, I THEN went out and got the mats and put Mongoose on it. That was one happy day for me. :)

I should post all my feral gear that rots in the bank. Some of you would probably hate me.
