If the renew glyph gave extra ticks I'd be all over it. As it is, there are other glyphs I would rather have.
Sometimes I'll keep 4 renews up preventatively and a shield on myself. It can be useful in incoming aoe situations. The last thing I want them doing is expiring quicker.

Thank you all. Got what is necessary to start building up my toon. All of the replies here has taught me something. I'll start working on it to bring my toon upto speed.
