Seal of Righteousness - confusedFollow

#1 Mar 14 2009 at 8:20 AM Rating: Decent
Hi all

I just rolled a Paladin for the first time and just need a bit of clarification about the seal of Righteousness buff.

It says when you cast that it fills you with holy spirit which causes X amount of Holy damage on your melee attacks. Simle enough. But then it also says underneath that "unleashing the seals energy will cause Y amount of damage" Y being about 4 times more than X

So without sounding too dumb, how is this energy released and how is Y calculated. Is it a case of maybe *% of my melee attacks will cause the Y holy damage eg 1 in every 2 melee attacks releases this energy automatically. Or is there something special i'm supposed to do to realease this energy?

cheers in advance for your help

Correct :) TO make sure you understand the second half of your question though, damage is based on weapon speed: a slower weapon will do more Holy damage on hit than a faster weapon, while the faster weapon obviously will hit more times, so they even out somewhat.

Yeh, it gets kind of strange too.

Without any talent point in SoR I seem to get more seal damage from SoR than SoB at level 80. What turns it around is the fact that SoB judges for a lot more damage and SoR judges very crappy damage.
