Need help with places to AoE grindFollow

My pally is currently 74 and I have a quick question. Are there any places with high concentration of mobs with a high spawn rate? I have my 80 resto druid on a seperate account and I AoE grinded most of the lower levels and it was faster than questing ever was. Anyway, I'm looking for a place between 74-80 to aoe grind. The ideal place I'm talking about would be something like the avalance in scholozar(sp?) basin with hundreds of mobs, or the stairs to Drak'Tharon where mobs are constantly running through your path and would add. I know neither of these places give exp but that where my idea came from. Again, the amount of mobs is not a problem for me as I have a great pocket healer. The more mobs and a more constant flow would be ideal.

Does anyone have any ideas?

From the WoW Wiki AOE Grinding:

Quote:
72-74/5 Dragonblight - New Hearthglen Down on the beach there is a ship with dozens of melee mobs. Just off the ship are several smaller 6-10 pull groups which are easily grabable and not too difficult. Just watch out for the other faction doing their quests if on a PVP server, it can be a busy area.
74-76 Zul'Drak - Drakkari Warriors around several alters (which you give offerings to) Dozens of easy to kill melee warriors.
Look for areas with few ranged attackers or casters. Look for dual-wielding humanoids if possible. Their faster attack rates will produce more Reckoning procs, hence more Seal of Light healing off the extra hits. Mobs that flee are also a plus, as they will continue to bring more mobs to the fight, allowing the fight to go on longer without having to repull.

At that level, rhinos in Borean Tundra appeared to be the best "value" in terms of XP divided by level of effort.

Just a word of warning though, boredom threshold is fairly high and I still couldn't stomach doing this for more than a half hour at a time.

Thanks, this is kinda what I was looking for.

As for this I find it very boring as well if I'm doing it solo. If I am using my druid to heal its actually quite interesting. I leveled from about 68-72 doing AoE grinding at the place just east of Amber Ledge in Borean Tundra with all the sorcers, hounds, and gnomes. I'd just have my druid on follow and run and pick up 10+ mobs, then just make sure I had HoTs on me. I'd slowly move into range to pull more mobs with HoR and it was pretty constant. It's also the fastest leveling I've done with any char for those levels.

I'm not so much worried about downtime because mana wont be a problem and I wont have to stop to eat or heal. So throw any ideas out there where it would be possible. If there is a place thats even hard for a solo pally to AoE grind because there are too many mobs, that would be the best.

Also I've seen mages taking out those camps of more of those Scarlet Crusader guys north of Naxx. You might be a tad small (I'm not quite sure of their level), but I tried it once while I was bored. Grabbed 14 of them together and AOEd them down; I was 80 though.

AoE grinding is well and good, especially if you are Prot and have a pocket healer, but with the average quest reward in Northrend being 20k xp, I found it far more efficient to blast through quests as quickly as possible, do 8-12 quests and turn them all in at once. My Prot Pally levelled with a friend of mine who was playing as a Holy Priest.

We just continually did quests as fast as we could do them and gained levels at lightning speed.

I think at level 76 you get access to the quests in Sholazar Basin (you will get a quest from someone near the flightmaster in Dalaran that will fly you to Sholazar) and there are countless quests there that have you kill ridiculous amounts of wildlife. These are ideal quests for combining AoE grinding with questing. Overall Sholazar is a fairly small area and the quests are pretty close together. By combining AoE grinding with questing in Sholazar you should easily gain 1.5 to 2 levels without even thinking. After that, you can go into Icecrown and endlessly grind undead (which is cake for a Pally with a pocket healer) and get quests done in Icecrown at the same time.

For a Prot Pally (especially with a pocket healer), the combination of efficient questing with AoE grinding will level you much faster than AoE grinding alone ever will. If you don't have Cartographer/Questhelper or Carbonite, get either the combination of Cartographer and Questhelper or get Carbonite and watch the levels fly by.
