I found this in the wow tanking forums. If any of you guys have the massive amount of free time it requires to read it, can you lend me your thoughts on the significance of the guys data?

Don't worry about the thread if you don't want to read the whole thing or at least the first posts from Xav.

A good read. Has some holes but very sound overall.

Bears will be fine. Stop complaining is the answer.

I read the whole thing; I was intrigued, but I wasn't really all too sure about the methodology and the like. I hear from other post that Xav and crew tend to like to use experiments with questionable methodologies, however I'm not experienced enough with the game to figure out how precise this experiment was. There was also some concern in the responses about possible confirmation bias, POV issues from the introduction, and the lack of magic damage in the test. I just wanted some info on it that was a little more clear then the druid qq in the response threads.

Also, if what he says about block is true, does that imply the same kind of problem for savage defense?

Thanks for response

It was a euro player that made the analysis. Not any of the aforementioned people.

SD in my opinion will not be as clunky and out dated as block. Which is where block's problem stem from.

The proposed, from the original OP, changes to block would make it work more like SD. Scaling in power off a regular stat and having a working chance off a rating based stat.

cool thanks.

I knew that the euro player wrote it. I may have made an poisoned fruit fallacy. I figured, since he asked xav to post it there, they were familiar with each other, thus the connection of him to xav, and thus the criticism of xav.
