Interface changingFollow

Okay, a few changes I would make. Either get rid of or change the scale of sexymap. Yes the swirly blue thing looks cool but it also takes up a significant portion of your screen for absolutely no reason. I would switch to simpleminimap or squeenix (personally).

As for addons that can help your DPS you can pick up Scorchio2 (or it may have just gone back to being Scorchio) -- it will help keep track of debuffs and procs, etc and does a pretty damn good job of it.

You could also pick up cooldowntimers2 (I think is the name) it will remind you with a flash on the middle of your screen when your cooldowns are up so you can use them again soon (if you need to).

I see 0 reason for you to have healbot installed, you aren't healing, at most you just decurse. There are a couple of common options for this: 1) get decursive, it is lightweight and just lights up the bubbles that are cursed with pink or blue if they are MCed and can be sheeped (friendly targets of course). Or install Grid (raid unit frames) and use an addon like Clique to give it functionality that I listed for Decursive.

For castbars the standard is pretty much Quartz. It takes about 5minutes to get used to how to change the settings with the interface, but when you get it you can move/re-size anything you want pretty easily. Just /quartz go to the one you want to change, uncheck 'lock' and move it where you want to and resize it etc.

IIRC slidebar is the thing that sits to the right side of your monitor that when you hover over it it will pop out. I think Auctioneer uses that.

I use PowerAuras to remind me of procs (hotstreak/missile barrage) as well as Scorchio to make sure I don't miss them. Using MSBT (mik's scrolling battle text) also helps while it is scrolling and you can set a sound to replace when the proc happens.

Thanks for the quick reply Anobix.

Yeah, SexyMap I got just because it looks pretty, I agree that it takes up a lot of unneeded space.

Event Alert is an add on that flashes an icon of procs in the middle of the screen and it works for all classes, not just mages, but I'll give Scorchio a try and see if I like it any better.

I have tried Decursive in the past, and I don't have a particular issue with it, but the main reasons why I tossed it and got Healbot is because I figured I'd need Healbot in the future for my Druid, and also I wanted an add on that helped me keep track of buffs as well, Healbot does both of these and more. If you think Decursive is a better option, do you know of any good buff tracker add ons?

I've seen you mention Quartz before, and I've been eager to try it. One of my main reasons for wanting to toss nUI is that the author refuses to allow people to overwrite his caster bar with quartz.

I tried to install the Caith UI package you listed above, but I had some issues with it, mainly that when I follow the last step to upload the profiles for the different add ons, I only get profiles for my class, server, or my specific character. Nowhere is there a Caith UI profile listed. I saw someone else posted a question about that in the WoW Interface Comments section, but no one seemed to answer that question. Is there something I'm supposed to do to make the profile show up or is it possible that the package is bugged somehow, do you think?

I will have to take a look at the CathUI thing with the profile loading - since mine is a modified version I'm not sure how well it will just work, but I will try it on a different computer. For Buff tracking, what buffs do you want it to do? I have Grid show missingbuffs (Arcane Intellect to be exact) with a green dot on the top left corner if they are missing it.

Well, mostly I just want to keep track of Arcane Brilliance during parties and raids, that way if someone dies I can recast it on them, etc. but I also want to keep track of AI and Molten Armor on myself as well, whether I'm in a group or soloing for quests/dailies. Keeping track of Focus Magic would be useful too, as I have a tendency to forget to cast it on someone.

Thanks for checking out the Caith UI for me. Most of the settings just come right through, but my screen doesn't look quite like the screen shot the author has listed. My bars were everywhere, the map and my character icon are at the default, there were green and red boxes filling half the screen (still are actually, haven't figured out how to fix that yet), etc. I played around with it a bit last night to try and fix it, and with the btex add on you mentioned earlier I managed to clean it up a bit. I've got my bars situated the way I want them for the most part, and my bar and my target's bar from Tip Tac situated as well. I'm not very good at messing with interface add ons for the most part, but I would like to get better at it. I'm a fairly quick learner when it comes to technology, as long as I have someone to help. =x

I'd also like to have a way to stick recount and/or omen in my panel if at all possible to keep that cleaned up. Not that I have issues with stealing hate in raids with my not too stellar 2.7k dps, but it's nice to have for heroics, where I definitely do have to keep my dps under control.

If you want a simple buff reminder, SmartBuff is excellent. I use it all the time and can set it for different parties, classes, buffs, and situations to be used. You will have to remember to cast Focus Magic though, as I haven't found something to remind me of that yet.

The red+green things are your buffs/debuffs with Buffalo2 I believe. Type /buffalo or /buffalo2 and that should help you out.

Okay thanks Anobix. If you do get a chance to figure out the Caith UI thing, I would really appreciate it. I posted a comment about it asking the author though, hopefully they will answer.
