LoathebFollow

I know that many of you are way past this point, but I had a question about cast rotation with Loatheb.

Normally, on a stand still fight like Patchwerk, I will do the LB (keep it up), scorch x 2, FFB until pyro proc, then scorch to avoid ignite munch and instapyro.

During Loatheb, I have so much crit that my insta-pyro is proccing all the time. What is the best rotation to maximize your dps during this fight? Do you guys bother with ignite munch? Or does refreshing scorch to avoid munching that often result in a dps loss?

I felt like my dps was low for Loatheb, only getting up to 3k and I feel that I should've been much higher than that. Part of it was just not feeling comfortable with all that crit, instapyro and trying to figure out what I was doing in general.

Armory: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Terenas&n=Spazicus

I realize I could adjust my gear/enchants a bit to increase my dps...I'm wondering what I can do with my current rotation to increase it. Thanks all!

3k is extremely low for loatheb if you are getting the crit debuff.

I would only refresh scorch at the 30 second mark to make sure you are as close as possible to 100% crit. At this level of crit it isn't really worth doing ignite-munch patrol, although living bomb is still an option, I am not 100% sure if it is the right choice -- you may want to put the stats into rawr and see what it says giving you 90+% crit and such and see if the rotation using LB is a dps increase or decrease.

As long as you have the crit debuff you will have no threat generation so you can go all out.

Thanks Anobix....I realize that 3k was way low. In the end, we still had a dead boss, but I was hoping for much more out of myself. Part of it was me not knowing how to manage all that crit. I was worrying about ignite munching too much so my rotation and casting was sloppy for sure. I'll just go all out next time with my main nukes and not worry so much about scorch unless it is about to expire. Once I get more comfortable, I'm sure my numbers will go way up.

If all else fails, FFB Spam on Loatheb.

Although its probobly off the top DPS rotation by a small %, the ease of the straight spam along with the surprisingly good DPM of it will allow more than 3kdps in virtually no gear. Perhaps throw that HSPyro and Living Bomb when you're on the move to a spore - but unless you're LB glyphed I wouldn't be surprised if its just wasted effort.

This. I LB and Pyro only on movement and scorch only when it's about to fade.

I usually don't try to Pyroblast everytime Hot Streak is up. Most times, it is always up, so I have a FFB FFB Pyro rotation I do.

Are you sure you have the crit buff when you're supposed to? Sometimes people rush to kill the spores and being close to the spore is not enough, you need to be on top of it or at most 1 step away.

The spores have a 10 yard radius.

Then I must have had very bad luck with many bugs.

It's 10n yards, but it has a maximum of 5 people in 10 man and 10 people in 25 man. I believe you have to be within range before it's popped to get the effect.
