I asked this question at the bottom of my previous post, but I'd like everyones input.
Since going destro 14/56 from an all around lock build, Ive sacrificed protection (FG) for Damages (Imp). When soloing, it was recommended that I use my Blueberry to help hold off the mobs for a bit. Of course, first conflag pulls them right off him and into my pocket.
Anyway, how much damage am I actually losing with Blue vs Imp?
Just for kicks, and since I'm very new at destro..when might I use succ/hunter?
By the way, for those who have advised me, now that I've got the hang of the recommended rotation, I'm runing at about 2400dps. Thx soo much again!

You should not worry about dps when soloing,but yes,Voidwalker has silly low dps,voids role is to tank and he does that through his abilities.
Yes you may use succy,in that case you are the one that tanks mob instead of your pet which is there to add damage.
Oh,and gz on your +DPS =)

I'm a demo lock, so me with felguard is different than a destro with voidy, but when I'm solo vs mobs, I usually just cast curses and wand. Sometimes I through in a shadow bolt, but that could draw agro to me, if I do it too much. You may want to consider casting conflag less, if it's pulling too much agro in solo play.
as destro u tank let the pet add dps to yours. go ahead and use the imp.the extra STA buff gives you the ability to take more hits.
now if your taking on elites thats an entirely different matter.but normal mobs the above should be fine.
and really go balls out....1 v 1 they should be dead in 2-3 hits anyhow.

***** it, just burn the mob down before he even gets to you. I just started up my lock again, tried affliction as I leveled from 1-68 with it. But destro is so much fun. Sometimes I don't even send my VW in first. I just start with Chaos bolt, immolate, conflag, incinerate til dead. The bad guy usually falls at my feet, may get 1-2 hits on me at max.
And now that I typed that out, I just realized...why the heck am I using the blue dude on those times I don't let him tank. /lightbulb
