I got beef with tier gear!Follow

#1 Mar 04 2009 at 4:26 PM Rating: Sub-Default
I've been blowing all my badges on BOAs for my alts because quite frankly I think it's all bull donkey crap kind of. More specifically the gloves and chest piece.

I only have one tier piece (my shoulders). Alot of hunters on my server use the "I have more tier pieces than you so I'm better than you." attitude towards me. (Well I do more damage so eat it.) However I don't like it...

Switching to my tier gear means I gain a crap load of unneeded hit rating, lose a crap crit, lose a crap load of AP, gain armor penatration rating, and gain 5% increased damage for my pet (which would equal 16.25 dps increase on my pet)

There are certain things I refuse. I refuse to drop below 30% crit, I refuse to drop below 4k ap unbuffed, I refuse to drop below 1.5k damage per range attack.

I'm stubborn...

Haven't we told you numerous times to stop listening to what other people have to say when they're wrong?

Oh yeah, we have, so do it. You're right, so unless the set bonus outweighs the lost stats by a lot (Tier 6+Ashtongue Trinket?), then don't bother. If people are bragging about gear and putting yours down, just ignore them completely.

Most of the tier gear I have is better than what I would otherwise have, so I don't stress too much about the stats.

My t7 gloves are really driving me nuts, though. I have a better pair, just sitting in my bags, but my guild has decreed that 4pc set bonuses are teh importants, so I have to either get a new helm of the tier variety or the 7.5 gloves if I want to upgrade them. >.<

It's more like 50 dps.

Also the 2piece set bonus makes any of the items aside from the legs best in slot, according to the spreadsheet.

Every time I start to have hope for you, you let me down pots.

Don't worry about it. Most of those people think they're 1337 because they have gear with matching names, when really i only want 1 more piece of t7.5 (prefer the pants, still have giantmaim or whatever it's called >_<). When looking at the stats, I'm a bit dissapointed with the t7 hunter gear, it lacks in some realms, and gives stats i really don't need (lawlz at armor pen.).

People, me included, need to stop replying to posts like this. This is at least the 4th post where people are complaining about tier gear. if you dont like it, dont use it.

On another random tangent, shut the **** up with all the ******** about the class and the game. We dont care if you are "upset" about something blizz did. They are trying to make things work and they are doing a decent job of it. If you are so pisseda bout it, stop playing, simple as that.

Second note, Use the god damned spreadsheet for gear questions or I am going to start refering people to RFK for upgrades. gear is situational, what is best for me, may not best for you depending on what you are using in each slot, which is why there is a freaking spredasheet!

Third note, to all out posters out there.. STOP BEING STUPID.

Also according to recount my pet is doing 315-500 dps. When I was crunching numbers on a dummy he was doing 325 dps and the tier gear increases their damage by 5% and 16.25 is 5% of 325 (16.25 x 20 = 325)
My pet hits 1000 dps in 25 mans. 325 is fail. My pet will hit 500-600 in 10 mans without any pally buffs.

He did say the 325 was from dummy tests, so I highly doubt that accounts for raid buffs :P

Not to necro a bad thread, but Pots has been around enough to know about scaling. If he is using a test dummy and worried about DPS, he should make sure he has the buffs that he would normally see. Current scaling really scatters my DPS, I have to say I love 25man, my DPS soars (but then again I'm BM- actually had another hunter in raid who was surprised I still was and cranking out good numbers). Solo dummy training =/= 5 man runs =/= 10 man runs =/= 25 raids. When you think about all the possible buffs that will increase your pet DPS (I'm not going to list them all, I think we all have a good handle on what they are) AND you pop a +5% damage to that... it's going to add up. I would liken it to not getting Imp Tracking- see what that does to YOUR DPS. Plus it's only a 2 piece requirement, I'm sure you can find a good combination for your gear and build.
