I recently just came back to the game, I took a break for about a month, and I am looking at some of the incoming patch notes we have. 3.10, and I am curious is assassniation still a great spec to use for raids and heroics? I know the HAT spec was amazing but I barely got to play around with it due to lack of feral druids and rogues in my current guild to have enough fun with that spec.

Assassination still outperforms Combat right now. The changes that are going to make combat more competitive won't come out until 3.1. Combat is still good dps, but Mutilate is outperforming it right now.
Also, with the changes to FoK daggers are better to have for aoe damage.
I didn't analyze your character, but I did notice your hit is really low. I know that hit rating is being theory crafted like crazy right now, but you are below 200. Which, imo, is really low. I would suggest you trying to get it up some.
Edit: HaT was only amazing because it was bugged. The dps of HaT is still a lot lower than Combat/Mutilate.

Seeing as I hit 4.2k dps on Patchwerk this week and 7.1k on Thladdius, I'd say it is.. and I'm in 1st to 3rd best in slot gear right now. If I was gear capped I'd be drooling on melee-friendly fights.
Also, a tip for FoK/aoe damage. Swap out the highest dps 1.8 speed daggers that you have and throw dual wounding on them for aoe pulls. I've done over 21k dps on single pulls in spider wing, and if we did double pulls I shudder to think how high I could get ._.'
Just don't forget to swap back to your fast weapons for bosses. Kinda hard to envenom with wounding haha
