Heirloom item good for shaman's?Follow

I'm considering buying a heirloom item for a shaman I'm levelling, is this recommended?

I got the 1h mace for my Elemental Shammy (I'm also working on a Priest atm). It has the same SP as the staff, but allows for a shield or offhand to be used as well.
But if you're planning on leveling a Warlock or Mage next, I'd get the staff as they can't use the mace.

Bear in mind that pre-58, they both have really lousy SP, so you'll want to enchant it (since you're going to use it for a really long time, it's worth dropping the 200+g for +30 SP).

The 10% to XP will equal a lot from 1-80 plus having cool looking shoulders early in the game is something I realy like.
Incase you don't know, although they are Mail items when you are below level 40 they will act as leather items.

Edit: What server do you play on for a few large brill's, essences and dust to come to 200g?

I find them quite high compared to Steamwheedle Cartel prices of late.
Saying that I have moved off the server due to the economy crashing lol
