Alright, so I was looking at the changes coming with 3.1 and was wondering if this would be a viable spec.

Comments? :)

Are you going to be using Oblit with your DW build? No reason to take Scourge Strike then. Probably better placed in a third point in NoCS. The return on Outbreak will be far lower as well.

Furthermore, you miss a lot of the talents that make Oblit so perty in the first place.

Are you going to be a raid DpS? PvP? (God, I hope not tank...).

I won't bother trying to ACTUALLY critique the build until we find out what you want. But it definitely need work.

Biggest necessary change, imo, is to move the three points from Annihilation to Subversion (especially if you are going to be a raid DpS)

And, if you are going to be DWing, definitely take the other point in NoCS.

I don't know if gaining KM is going to make up for potentially losing GG either.

(Also, if you could link your gear, it may help some folks here. I presume you won't build a completely new set for Ulduar launch, so your best spec may not be -the- best one available until you can build a better paper doll.^^)

[EDIT]

And remember there is plenty of time for all of this to radically change. Don't go putting all your eggs in one basket, so to say.

The thing I am not understanding is why are people going deep into talent trees and then taking nerves of cold steel? By going deep unholy or deep blood or deep unholy, you are really losing a lot of the benefits of going that deep and not using a two handed weapon and the main strike, i.e, scourge strike or heart strike. If a person is going to put 54 points into unholy, the best thing to do is put the 17 points in blood.

I tend to think that blizzard never thought that the dw builds would be as effective as they were, so with 3.1 they decided to reign it in a bit. I am sure people will find other ways, but it will take time to see where the best placement will be.

I never understand why people don't take NoCS because of how good it is when DWing.

3% increased chance to hit with 1-handed weapons is awesome enough. But then add in +15% damage from the off-hand? Yes, please.

Especially because DW needs more +hit, considering a lot of its damage comes from on-hit procs.

Look at it this way. DKs get one talent that directly benefits DW and one that directly benefits 2-hnd.

DW gets the above. 2-Hnd gets 4% damage boost. :P

[EDIT]

I do wish that Blizz had allowed deep-tree DW builds to be about equal to 2-handed ones. Perhaps allow the strike attacks to take a percentage of the off-hand weapon, too...

I'm a tank, so I never DW (and probably won't. Having the same wep for both specs is pretty nice, until they do something about that).

2H also has nearly 300 higher base weapon damage for ilvl 200 epic weapons on all of their weapon-based specials.

14 AP = 1 base weapon DPS. That's like.. 4200 AP.

Or I'm doing that math wrong.

All of the specs posted so far have been pretty bad.

DW is dead in 3.1. There's not much you can do to revive it until they bring HB back to what it was, damage-wise.

If you want to go deep Unholy, stick to 2h unless you want to be called a noob.
