A few changes i noticed in the updated PTR patch notes-

Quote:
Immolation and Unstable Affliction are now in the same exclusive category (both damage over time effects cannot be present at the same time by the same caster on a target).

I guess that made up our minds for us.

Quote:
Voidwalker: The health bonus on this pet has been reduced from 60% to 10%.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Quote:
Eradication: Whenever you deal damage with Corruption, you have a 6% chance to gain the Eradication effect. The Eradication effect increases your spell casting speed by 6/12/20% for 10 seconds.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Quote:
Siphon Life: The Siphon Life spell has been removed. Siphon Life now causes your Corruption spell to instantly heal you for 40% of the damage done. In addition, the damage done by your Corruption, Seed of Corruption and Unstable Affliction damage over time effects is increased by 5%.

5% on corruption and UA, i did say it would be nice if we got a small damage buff with the talent. :)

Currently (before the new patch), Siphon Life does over half the damage of Corruption. So, technically we are losing a huge chunck of damage.

Losing siphon life does suck, in a way, but also lessens our rotation. We can be casting SB, wanding, etc., rather than using siphon life.

Personally, I rarely even used siphon life anyway, unless solo. Always have a healer for raids/instances, so siphon life's purpose (healing us) is really a useless ability anyway.

Wanding? If I see a lock/mage wanding something in my heroic/raid instead of casting something useful there will be issues.

SL is useless for healing us as is. That's not really what it is for anyway. It's purpose is an added DoT, healing us is just an added bonus that might help out a little between lifetaps if a healer is preoccupied. But Haunt would be more useful for "healing" purposes anyway. In short, if you're not using SL in your rotation on a boss, you're quite possibly going to gimp yourself.

From the updated patch notes:

Quote:
Soul Shard: This item now has a maximum count of 32 in inventory.

I like this change. Don't have to worry about loose shards taking up room in my bags after my soul pouch is full.

And new glyphs

Quote:

* Glyph of Chaos Bolt: Reduces the cooldown on Chaos Bolt by 2 sec.
* Glyph of Demonic Circle: Reduces the cooldown on Demonic Circle by 4 sec.
* Glyph of Haunt: The bonus damage granted by your Haunt spell is increased by an additional 3%.
* Glyph of Life Tap: When you use Life Tap, you gain 20% of your spirit as spell power for 20 sec.
* Glyph of Metamorphosis: Increases the duration of your Metamorphosis by 6 sec.
* Glyph of Shadowflame: Your Shadowflame also applies a 70% movement speed slow on its victims.
* Glyph of Soul Link: Increases the percentage of damage shared via your Soul Link by an additional 5%.

The Haunt and Life Tap glyphs look really nice for affliction. Though, I wonder if the Life Tap one will stack with the Tier 7.5 set bonus. If so that would be great.

chances are, ALL specs will want the lifetap glyph, 'tis imba and would be insane with the T7 4set

What? No.
It heals you, so you can do other things besides Drain Life all the time. That's it purpose. It's a TERRIBLE DPS spell.
I find the less healers have to heal me, the better everyone else does that can not heal like we can. Further, this effect is extremely valuable in PVP, because we can SL many people at once, making us even harder to kill.

I am not talking about PVP, strictly from a PVE standpoint. On a boss fight, SL is not going to do much in terms of healing you since it is typically only on one target, and if you get hit by the boss you're screwed anyway. As I said it can help out between life taps, though chances are your haunt will take care of that loss of health anyway. And should you get hit, any significant damage will not be helped by SL, a healer will be needed.

However it IS another DoT that will damage the target. Granted the damage isn't great but it is there. If you take it out of your rotation you are doing less damage than you would with it in.
