Hunter (Skills List / Talent + Glyph Calc.)

* Frost Trap: If the target who triggers Frost Trap is immune to its effect, the Frost Trap area effect will no longer be triggered.

Talents
Beast Mastery

* Improved Aspect of the Hawk now has a new spell effect.
* Improved Wing Clip: This talent has been removed.

Marksmanship

* Piercing Shots re-designed: Your critical Aimed, Steady and Chimera Shots cause the target to bleed for 10/20/30% of the damage dealt over 8 sec.
* Ranged Weapon Specialization: Points reduced from 5 to 3, 1/3/5%.
* Wild Quiver: Chance increased to 4/8/12%, up from 4/7/10%. Damage increased from 50% of an auto shot, to 80%.

Survival

* Hunting Party: This talent has been reduced to 3-points, and now increases your total Agility by an additional 1/2/3%.
* Lock and Load re-designed: You now have a 33/66/100% chance when you trap a target with Freezing Trap, Freezing Arrow or Frost Trap and a 2/4/6% chance when you deal periodic damage with your Immolation Trap or Black Arrow to cause your next 2 Arcane Shot or Explosive Shot spells to trigger no cooldown, cost no mana and consume no ammo. This now has a new spell effect and sound.
* New Talent: Trap Launcher: When activated, your next Trap will be launched instantly at the enemy target. 1 minute cooldown.
* T.N.T. re-designed: Increases the damage done by your Explosive Shot, Explosive Trap and Immolation Trap by 2/4/6%, and gives your Explosive Shot a 33/66/100% chance to refresh the duration of your Immolation Trap effect on the target.
* Trap Mastery: This talent has been moved up to tier-2, up from tier-9.
* Wyvern Sting duration increased from 12 sec to 30 sec. PvP duration reduced from 10 sec to 6 sec.

Pets

* Roar of Sacrifice can be used on the hunter only.
* Stampede (rhino) only affects 1 target, but adds a 25% bleed damage debuff (that does not stack with Mangle etc.) in addition to its knockback.

"new spell effect" on hawk. ??

It looks like MM is getting quite a decent buff.

SV? hmm

the hunting party change is nice.

LnL? I have no idea. Black arrow is a typo? they mean serpent sting? It looks like they've fixed trap dancing with the nerf to triggering frost traps, but on the other hand, we get a new dot from explosive trap that will be easy to keep up, as we fire explosive shot every 6 seconds. Assuming black arrow is actually serpent sting, the proc rate actually doubled from the original ( due to explosive ticks) which is why they lowered it back to 6%. Honestly I hated trap dancing, so any move away from that is good in my books.

trap launcher, yeah, saw that oming.

other then that, eh. I'm guessing the roar of sacrifice is a sarth related nerf? It's really too bad, I really like the possibility of more complex pets, and this seems like a step back away from it.

This really depends on if they fix the current bug with LnL and Frost Trap. Notice how there's not an internal cooldown mentioned? Does this mean it's removed? If so (Or if the Frost Trap bug isn't fixed) it seems to me like trap-dancing is even more viable.

You'd start off with an Immo trap (Worth it to glyph now?) which will be constantly renewed with your ES. Then on every cooldown you drop a Frost Trap to proc LnL. (In addition to the random procs)

I'm also very excited to see the changes to Wild Quiver.

The patch not said that frost trap will no longer trigger at all on immune bosses. that says to me that trap dancing is gone. There's no other reason to change it. It'll still be great for any fights with adds, assuming they haven't fixed the CD's not overlapping. That remains to be seen, but I would be very surprised if trap dancing on the boss itself will work anymore. I guess we'll just have to go on the ptr and find out. I would not be surprised if it's completely gone.

update:

This shows what black arrow is. It's linked with explosive shot. 6%? wow. We're becoming a dot class btw. At least SV is. we'll have 3 dots up on the target at all times, two of which have %damage increases tied to them, and two which can trigger LnL.

My initial impression is that an SV spec will look like this.

this glyph starts to look quite attractive. 9 seconds is 3 more seconds then it would be up anyway, and that's a lot of extra damage.

hey Aethien, your "friend" franky over at tka seems a bit troubled. hehe. He'd get torn apart over here.

Someone want to hazard a guess as to why this was listed under Beast Master?

Maybe I'm still a bit sore (getting reluctantly un-nerfed isn't quite enough to make up for getting nerfed so hard in the first place) but the feeling I get is that they were hoping no one would realize they only had one change for BM listed so far.

My first blush spec is this: http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunter=100000000000000000000000005000032500033330502135301331005305201000000000000000000&glyph=000000000000&version=9614

No need for hawkeye anymore. And why NOT take trap mastery if we'll be constantly refreshing immolation trap on boss fights?

Yeah - that glyph looks mighty attractive.

Just wondering what will be nerfed, deleted, nixed before the patch goes live. Right now, it feels like Christmas.

And how to juggle 3 dots? hmmmmm. Launch immolation, black, serpent, ES, aimed, stdy, stdy, ES... etc?

The real downer is SS no longer proc'ing L&L, and it seems (from what I've read) that Black Arrow was taken away on the PTR. The MMO-Champ patch notes (undocumented changes) stated Black Arrow as a new ability in the SV tree, and the official notes still state Black Arrow will proc L&L, but I'm confused because Hunters on the O-boards are asking "what it did before they took it away".

I'm kinda upset to see so much focus put on trapping, too. I've never bothered trap-dancing, as I prefer to play more of the "utility" Hunter and use my traps for things other than L&L procs. Sure, it hits my DPS, but in my Guild, we don't strive to spam the meters and play well rounded rather than tunnel vision for DPS. I'd rather be able to save a healer from loose trash than toss Immolation Traps at the boss/target. Sure, I'm sure I'll use the Trap Launch in situational spots (bosses with no adds, etc).

Overall, a lot of good changes, but I don't like the focus on trap launching, and I don't like the changes to L&L. The buffs to MM tree was needed, and the TNT bonus change is nice. It doesn't make much sense though, as Blizzard has talked about how they feel SV has been OP'd, there's a lot of buffs in that tree and a lot of negligence in, say, BM (which deserves an overhaul by now). With dual spec, I'm sure I'll do BM/SV for solo/raid respectively, but BM would be nice if it was viable DPS for situational raiding.

can someone type out what the Black Arrow thing is about. For some reason (maybe my works firewall) I can't see anything on those mmo-champion links and waiting until I get home to read about it will be torture. Who ever posts it, I will be your best friend for at least 5 minutes:)

Instant Cast. 30 sec cooldown.

Don't know if it's actually going to be in there, though. It's omitted from the official patch notes (however the L&L details on the official notes cites Black Arrow in the proc modifier).

thanks man.

Also, I'm loving the whole mounts that can swim idea. Hated when that water depth got JUST deep enough for just barely far enough that you couldn't jump it and it knocked you off of your mount.

Black Arrow has been datamined in the past and then taken away. I'd have to guess that's what they're referring to.

I'll be speccing 51 pt BM so I can try and get a lazer kitty!

Yes, when I dinged 80 fresh with my BM leveling spec, I tried for a bit before going SV. The competition was just too hot, so I put it on the backburner and assumed I would restart my kitty-hunting until Dual Specs. Hopefully by release, the competition will die down a bit so the insurge of new BM's doesn't totally destroy my chances. I can't wait, though!

A bit off topic but, do you think they will swim at at their riding speed? Or better yet, can you call them in the water!?

As for the changes, it has already been said that they are making new changes everyday. Once i get on the ptr and do some actual testing I will know more. However, overall I am a little bit pleased with what I see.

It looks like the trap launcher is doing away with trap dancing in some fashion as well.

SV is getting a lot of attention now and (as has been said) BM is dying of neglect.

I'm kind of wondering if this isn't intentional on Blizz's part. Maybe they are 'dancing' the specs to the forefront and playing with them just to keep people bouncing around. If so, I'm not sure it's a bad thing or a good thing. I just wish they'd keep things balanced and leave them there for a while, at least four months... ^_^

To a casual player like me, it feels like every time I log in these days, someone has moved the cheese around...

Please take a look at this list and find me one spec that uses Imp Wing Clip.

It's useless with all the abilities Hunters have currently.

If sarcasm was his intended goal, he probably would have done better to put "key" in all caps rather than "removed". Gets the point across a bit more clearly. :)

I want to say that I was being sarcastic, but that would be a straight up lie.

I was being 100% dead serious. Sure, its not as "KEY" as it was during BC, but it is still useful, and has pretty much the same use.

I never relied on the proc to get me out of melee; that was never the point of me speccing into it. The problem that me (as well as numerous higher rated hunters) faced was that once all of your stuns/snares are on CD, and your DRUID is in melee and can't get out, what do you do? Obviously if you can run up and start hitting someone until they get stunned and your druid can run, that's good. You aren't doing DPS, sure, but you're on a drain team. Same thing if your pet dies, and you can't get a quick time to rez because they won't fall on your druid (or you don't have Imp. Rez), just hit them until the proc and rez away.

It wasn't meant to be reliable, it was just there as a last resort, and better than most filler talents by a long shot. It wasn't discussed all that often because it wasn't "KEY", really, and it looks terrible to most (a waste of points?), but I when I stopped doing Druid/Hunter and did Lock/Hunter, it became a necessity if your lock ran OOM throwing off a thousand hasted Fears that last for 0.1 seconds.

To prevent me from looking like some moron trying to prove his point, I give you Therst, the same Glad hunter that wrote that lovely guide for us (2 specs in there for Theophany ♥). Notice how he says "freeze/wing clip/cyclone/root", he's talking about the snare aspect, clearly giving reference to this. I'm sure that if I thought an argument was going to start I'd search for some MegaTF videos or something, but I don't feel the need.

Not only was that a YEAR ago, that's a level 70 build for level 70 arena.

I could tell you that removing mace stun for rogues was a complete and total nerf, but the reality was that no rogues were speccing it for arena at the time it got removed.

Imp Wing Clip is a nonentity in current arena PvP; if you think it is, you clearly have no understanding of why hunters had it in the first place.

There's no need for it now with TNT procs, Disengage, Deterrence, Entrapment, Wyvern Sting, etc.

Go look at this list (which was supposed to be in my first post), and tell me how many of those builds include Imp Wing Clip and the relative percentage of builds that take it versus builds that don't.

Yeah, there's your answer.
