I've got a decent stock of these now. I've already bought the Libram of Obstruction, and I'm torn on the next item to buy. I can make up the DEF via Trinkets or gemming, so I'm not terribly worried about swapping DEF for other mitigation/avoidance. But every option seems to be just as good or as bad as the other.

Armory

Chained Military Gorget? I'm a JC, and I have the Titanium Earthguard Chain

Waistguard of Living Iron? I'd almost prefer to grind for Skadi's Iron Belt

Heroes' Redemption Breastplate? It's sweet, but I'd lose a pile of DEF and Exp.

Heroes' Redemption Handguards? Again, sweet. But this would be swapping Block Rating for Dodge. I like Dodge, it's nice to take no damage, but I was trying to work on my %block.

In summary, every EoH item either appears to be a very small upgrade, or a sidegrade which requires compromising one defensive ability in favor of boosting another. I can't decide which would be a clear upgrade for me.

Edit: Link typo

I would get the belt. I prefer it to any other option that I have come across (though I've not run 25 mans mind you, so I may like a belt from those better). Don't think I'd really worry about the neck since you've already spend money and/or time to get the crafted one made, and it is a good one. Probably belt, then hands, then chest is the order I'd go.

Skadi's Iron Belt only gives you defense and block VALUE. Block value will do nothing to increase your chance to block. Only block rating increases your chance to block. The emblem belt gives you defense, parry, and dodge, so it is the clear winner.

With either belt you get 2 sockets (the one on the belt and the one you add with an eternal belt buckle). The emblem belt with 2 really nice gems (no problem since you are a JC right?) will be a VERY nice piece.

The next thing I would probably get after the belt would be the T7 Chest. The gloves drop off of Sartharion and you should be able to get into a OS-10 every week and complete it in about 30 minutes. Even if you have to PuG, it is not a difficult or long raid.

Also, the http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=44183;source=live are arguably better than the T7 gloves and they are a Krinn Torr Exalted rep reward, so you are guaranteed to get them. I have both the T7 chest and T7 gloves for the set bonus, but as soon as I get another piece of T7, I may well go back to using the Fireproven gauntlets until I get a clear glove upgrade from 25-man content.

Belt -

Double Gem it for what you need.

Technically speaking - you are trying to Maximize transitional gear. (At least this is how I thought of it.) My 80 Tanking (535 Def) set was viewed as a stepping stone to better gear. While you always want to spend wisely - remember - the goal is to eventually replace it all. SO --- IF you make a mistake and select X piece over Y piece ---- Remember - In the end the statistical advantage you may have missed will eventually be achieved.

Meaning - If getting the belt would be the largest single piece increase at the moment, but you pick the Neck... Well, the belt might have been 2 steps forward and the belt was only 1 step forward... Either way - you're buying the damn belt next and you'll total 3 steps.

I bought the belt last thing before logging last night. Haven't gemmed it or socketed it yet, but I have a DEF ring and a DEF trinket I can swap in as needed to balance my mitigation/avoidance/uncrit stats. I'm currently championing Kirin Tor, but might pick up the hands before I get to exalted, depending on my supply of Emblems and my ability to balance the big hit in DEF and EXP for swapping out the Solemn Council chest piece.

Thanks all for the feedback!

The thing about those Kirin Tor gloves, while they are very good, is the T7 gives a very nice set bonus when combined with another piece. Hammer of the Righteous is a big chunk of my DPS, so adding 10% to that is huge. Though I hadn't really thought about the ease of getting those as a drop. My guild didn't do Sartharion until AFTER clearing Naxx10, lol.

i find that alot on my druid. even some 25 man gear i drop hp but pick up avoidance from agi. i am rolly my pally due to lack of gear on bear that really looks like tank gear. as we do more and more 25 man naxx other tanks are catching up in hp and now that we are getting armor nerfed again not much diff between feral and all the other tanks really.
