What is everyone’s choice on healers?

You are tanking. The group has competent DPS. Everyone knows what they are supposed to do, but mistakes/bad luck happen. (aka – assume you don’t have any complete morons, but you’re also not grouped with people who out-gear the instance/raid and know every fight perfectly...)

Who do you want to be your healer? You have your choice of 4 equally geared/experienced healers:

For me, Paly tank, I want to see Druid, Shamy, Priest, Paly… In that order.

What about you?

Don't really care as long as i know they are competent. Healing can't be measured in pure numbers like dps can, it's more about seeing a spike coming, or reacting to changing situations. Fast reflexes help a lot too, on fights like Kel'thuzad (save whoever is getting hit by the frost tombs).

I guess i'm biased because a friend of mine plays a resto druid, but i like their front-loaded heals. You wont see your HP drop sharply, then jump back up because you've got two HoTs and rolling lifeblooms on you. And i like the rushing wind sound effect of their heals.

Druid or Priest. The other two have come a long way, but I am still not quite comfortable with them.

Druid: Takes a couple GCDs, but once all HoTs are stacked, my health bar isn't moving much anymore. Each time I check the tree's mana bar, I can't fail to notice that it isn't moving much more than my health bar.

Priest: Bouncier than the druid, but reliable burst and plenty of panic buttons. The least burdoned by group maintenance, leaving plenty of healing time to me. Guardian Spirit is the greatest healing spell in the game.

Paladin: Don't like my health going down significantly each time s/o in the group is taking big damage too - for whatever reason. Always feels like the pally is desperately trying to catch up with the amount of incoming damage. Having to kite makes matters worse. Like the burst though when they aren't bothered by anything. Plate and bubble means I don't have to worry about them as much.

Shaman: Their healing still seems to be all over the place. Least favorite.

Best duo for 10-mans is Paladin + Druid. There is perfect synergy between their healing styles. Having the pally cover the gaps until HoTs are stacked and taking care of spikes w/o the druid having to blow through all cooldowns is just plain awesomeness. Druid brings stability, even during movement, Pally delivers the burst. It can't get any better than that

I personally prefer Shaman healers. Assuming as you say Borsuk that skill/gear is equal this makes it only a question of what each one brings to the table besides their healing. For me, I like Totems. I like having the increased DPS that they give me making an instance just go that much faster. I like not having to Cleanse cause they can plop a Totem to do that for me :) I like the Grounding Totem for various casters, and Tremor Totem since I can't avoid any fears like a Warrior can.

I also tend to see mana as an issue more often with Priests and Druids then I do Paladins or Shaman. So after Shaman, I'd go Paladin. After that, I like Priests, particularly when they have the Imp Spirit buff to give me ^^ Then Druids last.

One thing that really bugs me about Druids is they can't seem to heal without jumping around all over the place. You realize how hard it is to keep track of and pick up new adds (think Gothik/Sartharion) when your healer keeps running all over the place?? Seriously guys ... root yourself in the ground. After all, you are a friggin tree.

So in short: Shaman --> Paladin --> Priest --> Druid :)
