Warrior gems.. AP or Str?Follow

#1 Feb 22 2009 at 6:59 PM Rating: Good
After running my fair share of end content, i've noticed a few things, some fury warriors place +str gems in gear, other +AP gems. For the sake of more Total AP, what should i socket my gear with? In theory, if i socket gear with + str gems, then get Blessings of kings +2% all stats, wouldnt my AP become much higher then just with plain AP gems? Thought i ask around the kind folk here at alla for their input ^.^

thats pretty much it. str gives you 2.2 ap per str with kings, whereas an equivalent ap gem you just give you 2 ap. so a 16 str gem gives you an additional 3.2 (35.2 total) ap with kings, while an ap gem would just give you 32 ap in the same slot.

Unless this has changed and I didn't know about it...

1 str = 2 ap. When unbuffed.

As bonus str is affected by str boosting talents and by BoK. In addition STR also affects block value.

AP gems are for classes that don't get 2 ap per point of str. Like rogues.

On my server it's always been difficult to find str gems, seems JCs prefer to cut the AP versions instead, I suppose they sell better. So to get STR gems I have to buy uncut gems and then hire a JC to cut the STR gems for me.

STR.

The only reason you sometimes see AP gems is because the STR/X cuts often didn't exist until recently, and are now random BoE drops so they may not be common or even exist on your server.

STR... as for the reasons noted above. if you're a JC, get the recipe for the +27 str gem. It's a prismatic, and will go into any slot. Only downside is, you're limited to three of them.
