almost 71 lock here, currently demo up to metamorphisis. i went demo again when WOTLK came out for better survivability and less damage on me. what do others recommend? afflic? destro? also can someone link me a good lvl 80 build. i want to do some PVP and a decent amount of heroics/ lvl 80 dungeons. eventually doin end game raids. thanks
I leveled Affliction all the way through. I can't speak for other specs since I never tried them. I found no issues keeping myself alive other than the times when I bit off more than i could chew through a foolish pull. I was also able to solo a lot if not most of the elite quests. Rarely had any down time.

Edit: Affliction is probably not the way to go if you are looking to PVP. There is almost no burst damage.

I went demon all the way baby......My Build 56/14. Chk out Reign in the Armory..Korielstraz.
This build has survived every situation thus far for myself, of course, it may not meet others play style. DPS around 850 with current gear.

Demonology is possibly the best solo build.

When i was leveling my lock i was demonology all of the way. Especially in northrend i think it works amazing. I had zero downtime and when i even pulled like 5-6 mobs i could always keep my health and my felguard's maybe about 3/4 way full. Even when i would do dungeons i was highest on damage meters and now as an 80 i am felguard/emberstorm specced and with mostly questing gear and some heroic gear i do about 1400 DPS.
So yea i reccomend demonology all the way.

I'm leveling Destro and loving every second of it. Zero issues thus far, and hardly any downtime. Just do what you want as all specs will get you to 80 with zero problems
Leveling Destruction as well and I love the utility the talent tree provides. Stuns, instant casts and nukes with short casting times. I feel like a Mage. A Mage with a pet.
Please "talk up" if your comprehension white-shifts. I will use simple-happy language-words to help you understand.

Have you tried doing a bit of research over at EJ?
