What to do with my Emblems of Heroism/ValorFollow

#1 Feb 19 2009 at 10:23 AM Rating: Decent
Quick one - I've reached a point where I don't think there's really anything for me to spend my Emblems on anymore (other than perhaps upgrading my heroes pants to valorous). Any thoughts? Am I missing something? Here's my armory. I don't PvP (since, I'll admit, I suck).

Thanks all.

If theres really nothing left to buy, you can make a little gold by selling BOE bracers for 40 emblems of valor. On my realm they go for 1200-2500g.

I'd probably save for valorous legs, and who knows, maybe while you're saving up for them they might drop from a raid. If that happens, and theres really no more upgrades left, you can either go for PVP gear (but you don't PVP), or otherwise just make a little gold by selling bracers.

Emblems of Heroism you could buy scarlet rubies for a cost of 10 emblems from the jewelcrafting store in Dalaran.

Hot damn. I didn't notice any of it was BoE. Excellent suggestion! I am somewhat cash poor at the moment.

Thanks.

Just curious... how has your dps been with frost, and why didn't you grab the brain freeze talent?

Dps has been pretty good. Naxx last night was in the low 3k range, if I remember right. As for brain freeze, no particular reason why I didn't take it other than I borrowed the spec of our top frost mage. He didn't have it, so I didn't put any points there.

If I were to do it, where would you take points from?

Wait, so you have 2 frost mages in raids?

shatter barrier is useless, imp cone of cold is worthless.

Do any of your mages use a spec that isn't gimped for raiding?

I'd have to agree that with your gear you could pull more with a real Raiding Spec. I know there are a lot of Die-Hard Frost fans out there, but if you go by numbers at all you immediately find strength in a different Talent Build. Your build, minus the fact that you don't have Deep Freeze, looks like a strange PVP or possibly a leveling build of some sort. I don't know what you have those points in Arcane for either =\

I know you don't have a lot of money, but if you can scrounge up enough I'd try switching to one of the other specs, if only for 1 raid - you'll see a 50% jump in DPS switching to a spec that focuses less on survivability and more on Raid utility and damage.

As for the original topic, I suggest people hold on to their Emblems. Although I have heard NADA about new Emblem rewards in 3.1, I'm quite convinced they are coming. Blizzard knows the majority of us are out of things to buy with them, especially the Heroic ones, and just like they have in the past they are likely to add to the list of items we can buy.

T7 Pants are the worst piece in the set for both Heroic and Valorous, there are better pants found within respective raids of that caliber. I highly suggest that if you have the 4-piece set from the rest of the set, skip the pants. To be realistic, though, the Helmet is quite a rare catch, so if you're relying on your pants for the extra Critical damage, then by all means upgrade.

The new ulduar badges (at least in 25man) will be "of conquest" from the blue posts I've seen.

Yep. I've been using my badges for heirloom stuff for my new priest.

Ya Anobix I just read that like a few hours after posting.

Kinda confused about some of it. Do they want us to just stop doing Heroics then? Haha~

I guess so much of the other stuff they put in game was so quickly left and forgotten it really shouldn't bother them that heroics be left dead and empty as well... hah! =\

My Guild, which is by no means super-elite, is able to gear up even Alts more effectively by just running them through 10 and, in some cases, 25-man content. Heroics have become a CoS Mount run... that's about it XD

Heirloom shoulders are one of the best purchasing decisions you can make if you run alts. I, on the other hand, am saving up like a nub to get one more mount to add to the collection.

As for the Valor badges, I'm gonna use those to get PvP gear for Children's Week, since I'll need all the help I can get. Smiley: laugh
