Agi vs AP for BM?Follow

I know Agi is better than AP in equal amounts (50 Agi > 50 AP), but I'm a bit fuzzy on how much more AP than Agi there needs to be in order for the AP to be better, especially considering that the crit the Agi gives does not transfer to pets.

So far, I've been gemming and enchanting for AP, along with a few weird gems that I'm planning on replacing now that I have the gold--I'm trying to figure out if I should keep going for AP, or if I should just toss out all my old gems, not just the weird ones, and replace everything with Agi to boost my crit a bit.

(Yes, I know I'm way over hit cap right now--just got the trinket and I'm trying to figure out where to trade +hit for other stats. I was thinking maybe getting a melee weapon without +hit, but I'm still deciding.)

Also, does anyone know of a free or inexpensive program that plays nice with the hunter spreadsheet? Microsoft Works Spreadsheet doesn't seem to like it very much, and I'd rather go for a replacement that you guys have recommended, than try to find one myself and probably end up downloading something icky onto my computer in the process.

This is no longer true. AP is better the Agi for BM and MM, we're not in TBC land anymore.

Agility is still better for survival. To be fair, it's a fairly small difference.

The main reason for this is that it takes a lot more agility to get 1% crit now, so the +crit from agility doesn't overcome the AP loss anymore.

Open office will likely open it but not work fully. It'll probably be decent, the macros won't work however. At the moment the only supported platform is Microsoft excel.

all I know is that if I were to put Greater Assault (+32 AP) on my boots, I have 2 DPS less than if I put Superior Agility (+16 Agility). So for Survival, I don't know where the cross over point is.

For survival agility is better. Almost* all enchants/gems whatever agility will be 1/2 the AP. If you have a more complex question, about an item or a different enchant, consult the spreadsheet

Thanks for the information. :)

Sucks about the spreadsheet but I had a feeling it was something like that. I may give open office a try and see how far I can get with it at least.

Does google docs work with macros?

Only other freebie app I know of that can read spreadsheets.

Open Office will be terrible, you're going to have to maneuver around and do everything manually. No importing, no automatic updates of anything.

Try downloading Microsoft's Excel Viewer, see if that allows the macros.

FYI: Open Office never worked right with my DPS spreadsheets.
