TotT love itFollow

Hey everyone

Does everyone love TotT as much as I do? It usually irritates the tank when I use it before he gets to the mob, but I've met tanks that absolutely love it. On AoE mobs, I'll put it on the tank then fire off a couple FoK just to help a bit then focus fire the intended target. Just thought I would post here and see everyone else's thoughts on the ability

I hate it, I think its the worst addition to the rogues skills.
I never ever use it, ever.

I like it. Not only does it pause our threat build-up for six seconds but it increases the damage output from its target. On a normal boss pull, I'll hit Tricks when the tank pulls, then engage as normal but without fear of critting and drawing aggro. When it cools down, I'll use it on another dps person (or the tank again, if their threat isn't high enough) so their dps increases.

I really don't see the problem. It's not as though we've got too many skills to concentrate on and there's no downside to using this.

Pretty much essential for me and I use it every time it is up. I mean, you can open up with massive burst and all threat goes to tank or the person you do not fancy, what is not to like?

Its one of the best additions to rogues in a long time.

With the addition of fan of knives TotT is huge, I love it, and use it as much as possible. If you raid then you really need to use it.

There are some nice macros on EJ that will give you target of target or focus, super handy for burning adds, or dropping threat when you see omen lighting up. You can also trade it off with other rogues for a DPS bump. my first toon was a hunter, so misdirect was good training for TotT.

These guys have it correct.

Jepetto, I'm going to assume either you don't raid or you are joking.

My tanks LOVE TotT. It's fantastic for trash, and when **** hits the fan on pulls it can really assist threat generation and pulling together multiple adds on offtanks that don't necessarily have the best AOE threat builders.

If you have another rogue in your raid and you aren't TotT'ing off each other (after the initial burst to the tank) then you fail as a rogue. Just throw away 15% extra free damage.

Damn it all, I kept drawing aggro last night and having to vanish to drop it, or continually switch back and forth between targets which occasionally caused a lose of combo point.

Here, I could've been using tricks the entire time, helping the group, AND staying on target. D'oh!

Fortunately, this was my first heroic, so I suppose that's the sort of thing you learn.

In AV tell a friend, let's go wait in Drek's/Vaan's room to get ready to attack! Then sneak a TotT on him and sneak over and ambush Drek & vanish...listen to him on vent and laugh your *** off. Repeat as necessary to those ******** on /bg chat.
