I'm currently using the Borean Tundra Libram. Yes this thing looks like dirt. Yes, I cop some laughs from my guildies about having a green item equipped in Naxx 25. While I own the Grizzly Hills PvP libram and the Emblem Libram neither of these are working out for my spell rotation.

While the Emblem Libram is nice for PvP it's really no good for me in PvE with the amount of haste in a raid situation coupled with the already fast weapon speed of my weapon. Gimmick fights where I'm trying to take less damage are the only time I see SoC as the preferred Seal of Choice (looking at you Loatheb).

I suppose the trade off is do you want increased crit chance on your divine storm ability(up to 4 possible crits in an aoe situation) or do you want increased crit on your judgement bombs while risking lost dps time due to global cooldowns + spells coming up at the same time.

By the way I'm yet to see the Naxx Libram drop.

I'm not looking for tips on upping my dps per say although I'm open to suggestions. My dps is fine in raids unless I do something stupid. More or less curious to see what the other Ret Paladins here are using and what spell rotations are working best for them.

Im currently running this
  • http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=40191;source=live
  • which does me pretty good, though another guildy swears by
  • http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=38362;source=live
  • . I had this for a while too
  • http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=40337;source=live
  • which is nice for your trash and useful for gluth kiting and Gothik/Noth adds. Personally they are slight upgrades in either direction whether you want to do more single target or aoe. The pvp libram is comparable to the radiance but i haven't done the math to see which one would win out.

I use the Borean Libram as well. Just have not bothered to get the Grizzly hills libram, hardly seems worth it. Of course I mainly just log in a few times a week to raid these days and have not gotten too much into PvP in WoTLK.

Ok I just went and got it. That was incredibly easy to do at 80... took all of about 15 minutes. You can get all 3 quests you need for the token and complete them in a small area. So yeah at least I dont have an ugly green there anymore but with my 4 peice t7 bonus an 7 second cool down on judgements I still say the difference will be negligible. But hey at least its not green right and it was uber easy to get don't know why I put that off for so long. I blame my moonlighting with Warhammer. ;)

i posted this on wowhead a while back. since then i have come to rely on the Venture Co. with a FCFS rotation, you will have more uptime and greater crit chance on your bigger attacks. specific spell librams(Cons and CS) are weaker in almost every aspect...even though they are purple. enjoy.

on a targetting dummy the Venture Co Libram is superior to the other two. in actual use, Libram of Furious Blows will either be as good or better, when considering imp Judgement and the tier set bonus.

    Furious Blows:
-since you open with Judgement, LFB will kick in from the start of the fight.
-you would choose Judgement over DS if their CDs expired at the same time.
-ALOT of fights don't allow for the use of aoe(CC anyone?), including DS.
-in some fights you are temporarily out of range of DS but not Judgement.
-in PvP, you would use Judgement more than DS since fights are mobile and DS doesn't always make it into the rotation before enemy is dead or out of range, leaving CS and autoattack to still gain the crit bonus.
-DS is *usually the last part of the attack rotation. this leaves some of the 'up time' lost to CDs.

    Venture Co:
-when silenced, Judgement is not available. rarely, are we disarmed though.
-DS is *usually the last part of the attack rotation. this leaves the hardest hitting attacks to benefit from the extra crit (Judgement, CS, Exorcism).

if you want real time data, figure out how many times on average you use the respective abilities. then you can weigh the differences in 'up time' and 'crit value'.

*I often will place DS 2nd in my openning rotation. it's a lesser attack therefore generates less threat. it will proc Vengeance faster in aoe situations. it also prevents Judgement and CS CDs from intersecting on the second rotation.

I would like to see something different with the next round of Librams coming out. Hopefully a SoM/B libram similar to the old level 70 SoC one from BC that gave you a chance to proc a set amount of bonus AP/Strength.

I'd welcome the idea of being able to show my libram similar to how classes that use ranged weapons can by pressing Z twice. Just a little aesthetic thing to show you have a relic equipped.

Wouldn't it just look like an off-hand book?

Most likely. I can't see whats so hard about them doing it. I know it seems silly but hey.

I would like to see Librams be displayed like those books that WC3 Paladins had.

If you got disarmed by a rogue you could thunk them on the head with your holy dictionary!

Grizzly Hills PvP libram, surely if you aren't including devine storm in your rotation you are doing it wrong?!?!

That libram also takes about 30 minutes of questing and nets as much gold as 30 minutes of dailies.
