Further discussion on SoM(B) or SoCFollow

We all are pretty much aware that the recommended seal for PvE is SoM(B), but on PvP servers what do you guys keep activated? I just wonder when soloing whether to keep SoC up just in case I get any in game PvP aggro and don't want to waste a ST waiting to activate SoC from SoM(B).

In the past I've kept SoM(B) up to maximise the DPS when soloing against mobs but often have been caught out when attacked by other players.

I play on a PvP server and I haven't touched Seal of Blood/Martyr yet. I haven't raided either, which might be a contributing factor. Point is, I don't like the downside of Seal of Blood/Martyr. Losing health in order to damage? No thanks.

Perhaps Blood/Martyr rules the DPS charts in raids, but I kill stuff fast enough with Seal of Command when I'm out soloing. Just get the Seal of Command glyph and go to town.

Use Command when soloing, leveling, or doing PvP. Martyr is solely for heroics and raids, since that's the only scenario where you'll be getting the consistent healing that it requires. Command is the "default" seal for when you're flying around Icecrown mining saronite or something. It's not like it's difficult to switch seals.

That said, the DPS difference between Command and Martyr is more than noticeable. Using Command in a heroic or a raid is just a waste when you could be doing much more with Martyr up. The damage you take is negligible for any competent healer, and it goes straight towards replenishing your mana bar.

Two threads same topic on one page..

SoC is better when your solo regardless of PvP server. It's for the simple reason that when soloing you don't have a healer to make use of spiritual atonement. Having to heal yourself because of SotB/Martyr will, in the end, slow you down more than the lesser DPS of SoC.

Though I don't play on a pvp server and may be off main topic, but people were referring to the down time for healing while using SoM. I always use SoM while solo. While I am 80 and well geared, so it maybe a different situation for you, what I usually do is after taking one about 3 mobs, my health will be down to around 50-60%. Holy light myself and then divine plea right after. Your health will jump back up to around 90-100% and if you crit, you'll regen even more health. While using judgment of wisdom I don't have to stop for mana pretty much ever unless I forget to hit divine plea or run into multi mob packs which require consecrate. Down time is pretty negligible. Basically 2.5 sec (depending on haste) cast and and insta cast (divine plea) and on to the next mob.

I leave SoC on my bar for all of three raid fights. Gluth, so I don't kill myself after Decimate. Loatheb, in case the healers aren't paying attention. And Razuvious, because I really don't see the point of killing myself taking down his adds.

That's it. SoB for solo, all 5-mans, and every other raid fight. I might have to cast a Flash of Light after every other solo mob, but I rarely OOM.

Ehcks comment is more what I talking about, not trying to replicate the other discussion, and I agree with him. Although SoM is supposed to be for group PvE I think I would prefer to keep it on all the time. Yes it's a pain if you get PvP'd but I tested a rep grind last night and my DPS dropped by 600 points using SoC.
