what should i be running as a holy priest for heals in say a 5 man heroic COS. 2 nites ago i ran it and according to recount it showed around 1800 hps which i was told since i have no t7 that was inaccurate.

that's my armory. i don't think my gear is that bad and recount should be pretty close to correct, right now i'm unbuffed

are they correct in saying its not right or is it pretty close to being right?

HPS is a horrible method of measurement. Healers simply don't work that way. The only place where you can reliably measure HPS is on bosses where you get a chance to spam your most mana efficient heal on the tank for the entire fight long. The only fight in existence that works like that is Patchwerk, and even there HPS doesn't matter one bit - paladins will always be on the top due to the nature of their heals. Forget HPS all together.

That said, your gear seems reasonably on par for heroics so you should be able to run most if not all of them.

At the moment I run my healing skills against H COS timed.
Can you run it, and make it? Then you kick butt.

I have recount and most of the time just watch the overhealing.
Your gear looks good. Somewhere along the way I was told 1500 spell power and 600 mp5.

IMO, the measuer of a good healer in a group that is at par... did you wipe? Yes, there are many reasons that you can wipe, but you know what I mean. Without stupid moves, overpulling, bad threat management, ect... did you wipe? Ran H COS and not only got the timed mount but finished the instance in under the timed clock.... hehe. 0 wipes, 0 deaths. Ran VH and Ocul (all heroic), 0 deaths,0 wipes. Not a bad days work.

This was a great article to check out.

we wiped 1x on meathook last time i ran it. which was due to poor planning on where to put him. we have not tried for the timed event yet as my guild is not dps wise up to what we need to do it.(which we are working on)

thanks for the link i will check that out

edit---btw this is the first i had ever healed anything was on wickedvamp. i was always partial to dps till i switched to the horde and my guild needed healers even for the low instances.
