Picking up where I left offFollow

#1 Feb 12 2009 at 1:24 AM Rating: Decent
I left my lovely death knight for a short while in order to get another character over the hump to level 80. Now I've come back to DeathDream, but in my (real life) old age, I can't figure out where she is in her progress. She was where I left her in the Crypt of Remembrance, but nobody there has anything for her to do. There are no active quests in her log (Is there any way I can find which quests she's already finished?).

She has her deathcharger; I know she killed the mayor & she has a nice stash of Noth's Special Brew, so she's been to the cauldron a few times. She's been back and forth to Death's Breach & up to Acherus; she found Amal'thazad and was able to get a little more training, but neither Commander Thalanor nor Highlord Mograine has anything to say to her.

She's still carrying her runed soulblade, so she hasn't yet made a runebladed sword, but I don't remember how to get to Instructor Razuvious to get that quest.

I hope I wake up (in real life) tomorrow morning with full recall, but just in case, I wanted to ask a few experts how I might get her back on track. I'd hate like heck to have to delete her & start over from scratch.

I'm at my wits' end, and at my age it wasn't a very long trip, but I hope I can find some help here, or perhaps at least someone will point me in the right direction to find such help.

Thanking you in advance.

update: She just found Instructor Razuvious, and he has nothing to say either.

Found Thassarian & Orbaz Bloodbane, but neither has anything - Orbaz just says "we are the chosen etc., sent to sow the seeds of destruction".

If I'm reading this right. It sounds like it's time for you to go to the inn on the back side of the town. Right near the orchard. See what is there. I could be wrong though so who knows.

You could just reroll.

The Scarlet Tavern? Thassarian & Orbaz Bloodbane are on the second floor? So far not finding anyone with a talk balloon or a quest exclamation point . . . :( (well - Orbaz has a talk balloon - he sez "we're the chosen . . .")

Does "reroll" mean I delete this character & make a new one? I hate the thought, since she's already halfway through the quest chain, but it IS an option - last resort, but still . . .

I found where she had abandoned five quests and I don't know what those were or who was the questgiver. Does the "phasing" thing prevent her going back and getting those? My guess is that she took the quests but they called for a group, and I usually abandon those because I rarely group up with other players.

All the time you spent running around and asking questions here you could have easily deleted and started another dk. Also if you're into the story line and lore it'd help you to get back into that way. Sort of like starting a book but putting it down for a month and then coming back to it. You'll probably forget a lot of details. Really though rerolling isn't a big deal halfway through the DK quests. It's like rerolling a level 10 toon.

It might affect it. All of the DK quests in their starting area need to be completed, for their talent points and to continue on with the rest. It's been a while since I've started my DK but I only remember one group quest and that was the final one. I do not recommend skipping any DK quests. I'm not even sure if you can.

Very good points. I'm wasting time and figuratively throwing good money after bad.

Okay - lessee if I can't rebuild her better than ever. And I'll pay better attention this time around.

Thanks for the good advice; greatly appreciated!

Phasing can not occur unless you quest past it. Easy way to determine where you are, count your talent points and go match them quest-wise.

Isn't creating the sword one of the very first things you do?
AFAIK, you can't progress beyond that until you pick up the sword, "runeforge" it, and return to Rezuvious.

if everything is phased then maybe you should go to....Light's Hope Chapel? for the final event of the quest line?

You're making me want to create another DK...

That starting area ROCKS.

Frost Wyrm, AWAY!

And, to the OP, where is the Lich King?

Meaning, is he in Acherus? Is he standing on a platform looking out over the fields?

Are Kelseth and... that other one... there with him?

And, finally...

Do you have you helmet yet? This is the last thing you recieve before your good rune weapon. And, if you have it, you need to go to LHC for that event.

I say reroll, as others have said too.

The DK area can all be done within a few hours. If you team up with a new DK, you both can blast through it in half the time.

It will let you get the feel of the DK again, and refreshed on the DK back story.

LOl, i have 6 dks just for the story line. Different races/factions. Went and read all the books and scrolls on the floor. Took down all the names of the major players to see who turned on the Lich King. The final event is worth getting from the very beginning. Don't go into it halfway through the battle. You'll miss part of the story that way.

You can solo all of the DK staring area quests, even the final event. Nowhere do you need a partner. And you need to complete them all.

Happy killing
