Ancilorn, a new blue community team member over on the EU forums, just posted that despite the recent announcement, patch 3.1 will not remove consumable ammunition.

According to Ancilorn, they "still fully intend to move forward with this change when the additional functionality becomes available." To me that means Blizzard needs to do some serious recoding to make the change work, and it's cool that they're letting us know they're still going to do it.

Ancilorn also lets us know the following points:

* Patch 3.1 will remove the need for pouches/quivers
* Arrows and Bullets will have their stack size greatly increased.
* Haste bonuses from pouches/quivers will be preserved in another fashion.

We have no additional information other than what's been said above, but we're anxiously on the lookout now for the patch 3.1 PTR.

Ah, so this is what that guy in my guild was ranting about. No idea where he got his "quiver haste will not be baseline for hunters but will be a mandatory deep MM talent" spiel though.

I agree with KDenelor, this is still an improvement. I can't wait to use my herbalism bag somewhere other than in a bank slot!

In the words of Lynyrd Skynyrd "I don't need change I need folding money". Seriously, I wish blizz would concentrate a little on fixing the prowl/cower bug. It's only been, what, 5 months that's been a problem. Maybe they're waiting for a stimulus package.

I dont know about anyone else but I am hopeing that the removal of stacks of arrows is the first step in giveing us elemental arrows/bullets. I'd like to be able to change my ammo type to the mobs I'm fighting. Fighting frost elementals, use fire ammo.

That concept could be done with Aspects. You switch aspects based on what you are fighting to give you maximum damage against that type of foe. It could either remove some bypassed talents in the talent trees or even combine with others to become even more effective. They kind of made a stab at this with the Tracking bonus damage skill but it is kind of a half attempt.

Consumable ammo never bothered me that much, but the space it takes up is a pain and the cost is not good either. So, I don't mind it going away but there are bigger issues with Hunters than this.

Fix the bugs.

Fix the balance between specs.

Fix Arena combat.

THEN work on stuff like ammo and quivers.

Blizz has stated a few times that they prioritize the fixes, then they look at what dev time goes into those fixes. Things that appear to have the quickest fix without throwing class balance off gets done. I agree there are things we need fixed, but quivers and ammo must have seemed to be an easier patch.(But with the new delay, that must not be the issue anymore)

You also realize that not everybody is working on the same things all at the same time. That would be ridiculous, too many cooks in the kitchen so to speak.

Would it be better to spend 8 hours working on 1 big project/fix or 20 small projects/fixes? It depends on what they are. Sometimes it's better to do 20 small things and then work on the major thing. Other times it's better to work on the major thing and then the 20 small things. There's also where you split up your workers. You don't want 20 employees working on one project if it can be done in the same amount of time as 5 employees. There's only so much you can physically do. You'd be wasting 15x40hrs a week and for what?

All of those issues you're talking about slosh are being worked on right now as we speak. Not just what you think should be top priority.

I fully understand how game code provider companies like Blizzard work. I don't need anyone to tell me that.

I am simply putting forward my opinion of where their priorities should be. If you look at a risk vs. reward point of view, the priorities I espoused are in the least risk versus highest reward order. It's also likely the most efficient order for coding and could be divvied up rather easily.

If Blizzard listens to my lowly opinion then fine, if not, they'll do their own thing like they always do. Hunters may not be on their radar as much as other classes at the moment. The bugs are significant right now and impacting combat, at least for me, so I'd really like them to focus there first.
