Things I'd like to know before I hit 80Follow

So I'm comin up on 80, and throughout the 70's I've been having trouble getting groups for any instances. I've only managed to finish UK, Nexus, and Azjol.

Question is, I remember reading somewhere that instead of attunement, the only requirement there is for heroics is that you have finished the dungeon on regular difficulty. Does that mean that at 80, I'm going to be screwed and have to find groups for every instance on reg difficulty before I'm able to actually join heroics? Or did I just read that wrong.

I don't think it's a game requirement to run the reg version to do the heroic. People may say that because it gives you some familiarity with the instance beforehand. I could be wrong though, as I have not run any heroics yet.

While I'm askin questions, I've also heard that the quest chain to unlock the Sons of Hodir rep requires that you be able to fly in Northrend? Is that true, or does it just make it easier?

That is incorrect. You don't have to run it on regular to be able to run it on heroic. Although, it would give you the heads up on what to do, but it isn't required.

That is correct. To get to the area that you need to go to for the quest you have to be able to fly. I guess you could get a lock to summon you, but that would be a pain for them.

Alright... good to know. Guess it's time to start saving CRAPLOADS of money then. Sigh.

If I don't already have the flying skill from outland, then it's what, like 6k total to be able to fly in northrend?

Might as well retitle this thread "Stuff I need to know before I hit 80". Haha.

In fact, I'll do just that.

There's a guy at the K3 a town in storm peaks that loans you a flying mount. He's next to the flightmaster, also it's free. You don't need cold flying for it it already has it. But it is a very slow mount, but it gives you extra time to get your gold together, while still letting you experince things.

1k for normal flight (60%)
1k for cold weather flight
5k for Epic Flight (280%)

So you can fly for 2k (plus 200 for a mount).

On my hunter I did Sons of Hondir as soon as I hit 77. It took me a whole level to finish the chain. It starts at K3.

FYI. Next time, to be safe from being flamed, put simple questions in Eonsprinter's Simple Question and Answers thread. Based off his request that thread is immune to flame post since it was created for people to ask simple questions.

There are people that get tired of answering questions that could have been looked up with just a little bit more of your time. I'm one of them sometimes, but I didn't feel like being a Richard atm.

Anyways, good luck on the rest of your leveling.

Never seen that thread before... thanks for the advice. I'll check it out.

And also, the fact that I can fly in northrend for 2K rather than 6k made my day. Thanks a bunch!
