Just wondering who else would be keen to see the Ravenholdt faction play more of a role in the game. It has such immense potential from a rogue perspective, but just fizzled out un-impressively.

I would like to see the faction feature in quests where info gathering, assassination, delivering covert messages, etc, etc. Now I'm not saying revive the faction in old world content, because we can be pretty sure by now that the old world will remain as is without any changes. But how about in new up and coming patches, or in the next expansion.

Heck, I can see so much opportunity for spy work in this expansion - spying on the activities of the Lich King ... assassinating leaders of the scourge war-effort, etc etc, should be a task that is handled by the spy-masters themselves (even though other classes would be able to do the work, it would still be run by rogues)

Failing Ravenholdt, it would have been nice to have a rogue based faction. Although a new faction is unnecessary. Mages have the Kirin Tor, DK's have the Knights of the ebon blade, Druids have the Cenarion Expedition, Pallies have the Argent Crusade. All of these factions feature prominently on wrath, why not Ravenholdt ..

Come on guys, it'd be cool - you know it would.

Registered an account just to say this:

YES.

Ravenholdt had such potential, and then they didn't DO anything with it. You can't even raise rep beyond a certain level with them, IIRC; they're just sort of anothing faction. It would be so cool to be able to work more closely with them, doing all sorts of roguey stuff like spying, assassinations, etc. I wish Blizzard would bring them back. :(

I agree, I'd also like to see Ravenholdt have a more prominent role. Or any role, really. That would be awesome.

In fact, as soon as I'm finally level 80 (3 more to go, wewt!), one of the things on my "list o' stuff to do" is raise my Ravenholdt rep. I figure pickpocketing the entire durnholde keep and then FoKing them all oughta go a long ways towards getting me to exalted. Sure, it may be a complete and utter waste of time, but hey, I like hangin out in hillsbrad anyway, and it's not like the entire game isn't really a waste of time. haha.

I just hope that sometime down the road, they DO make something useful out of Ravenholdt, and then I'll already be set!

Agreed.

Ravenholdt got me the most excited over anything in the game as a young rogue, and ended up being one of my largest sources of disappointment. I fully agree with the wish that it be brought back as an endgame faction, would make me super happy.

Even a combined Ravenholdt/SI:7 kind of like the Argent Crusade.

Sure, it takes only 2800 junkboxes to get from 1/3000 friendly to exalted.

There should totally be Ravenholdt dailies. And a Ravenholdt port.

By killing mobs from Syndicate you get 5 reputation points (? correct me if I'm wrong here). Grey mobs give reputation after 3.0.8 patch went live.

It might count for the exalted faction achievements /shrug. Other than that a high five. Maybe?

Guess you're right. This weekend I saw a mage that was exalted with Ravenholdt. I guess either he killed MANY mobs or he bought thousands of junkboxes. O.O

I always felt like it should be a Rogue "faction" (at least give us a tabard the way Paladins have one, or maybe a rogue-only mount). Really the entire faction is pointless aside from a handful of quests, one being a short chain for decent (if not short-lived) gear, and then I think being how you learn to disarm traps (which is a 100% useless skill that I've never gotten practical use out of). Kind of depressing that something with so much potential that appeared to have a lot of work put in to it fell so far by the wayside. Here's to hoping Blizz picks them back up in the future, because I'd definitely like to see more.

Off the top of my head, occasionally annoying hunters in pvp by disarming their cunningly laid freeze traps at flags, and at least one outlands dungeon (citadel?) where the mobs dropped landmines left, right and centre, which could usefully be disarmed.

so 99% useless...

Hey I used Disarm Trap for that minefield quest in Storm Peaks.

PvP moar. With the new immense range you can actually disarm a trap lying in a flare with a hunter sitting on it.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of a plot for Ravenholdt either, though. Like MasterOutlaw pointed out, right now it's a faction that's just "hanging around" having no real purpose, even though it has huge potential.

Okay, okay. In fairness Disarm Trap has maybe 1% use. In PvP though I stopped trying to disarm traps because someone else would inevitably shoot passed me and trip it before I could do anything, even with the huge range. I had forgotten all about the Northrend mine field since I was there for like 10 minutes and before I got too far into the quest chain I could just fly over the mines anyway (after a point you start getting shot down though). The dungeon in Outlands is the same as my PvP situation: unless I'm alone or with guildies (sometimes even with guildies) people tend to just rush in and trip all the mines before I get a chance to disarm the ones that are in the way.

So restating: Disarm Trap is 99% useless.

I know it's pointless to mention, but Ravenholdt is part of a FoS that gets you a title "The Insane" coming in 3.1. Better start gaffling some lockboxes!

Also, getting to 11,999/12,000 is quite easy at 80. The guys in Durnholde respawn in about a minute. Must suck for low hordies. But on my druid (who is, admittedly, a killing machine), I hit the max rep from kills in about 5 hours total. Would have gone faster if there hadn't been competition there (some other 80s came and went) or if I had focused more (when I got into a good grind I banged out around 5-6k in a single hour).

Rogue only mount at exaulted FTW. Maybe a black spider mount. I'd be farming rep so fast my head would spin if they did that.

I. Will. Not. Ride. A. Spider.

Other than that not a bad idea, although I'd like to see a fully developed faction.

Totally and completely agree with the OP. My guess is that they wanted to explore Ravenholdt as a roguey faction but just ran out of time and now have moved on. I've been asking for this ever since my old nelf rogue started earning faction with these ungrateful jerks back in vanilla and still no love from Blizzard. QQ!

At the very least a tabard would be awesome. A rogue-only mount? HELL YEAH. But it would obviously be a cat of some kind. They're the most logical due to their stealthiness and whatnot.

In the current storyline I don't see any room for the faction sadly. Maybe in the next expansion.....

.... hoping =)

Therion summed it up.

Blizz is just utterly lazy. It's sad. They don't push content, they are only open M-F(10million subscribers and seriously, you can't open 24/7?), and they leave classes behind in the dark.

Vanilla had so much going on. Warlock and Paladin had class quests for mounts. Priest and Hunter had class quests for weapons.

How hard would it have been to add a Rogue weapon or mount for Ravenholdt? honestly... a few hours.

Hell yeah - a tabard - I'm not one for the silly things, but it would be dead simple to have Lord Ravenholdt send you one in the mail (or have you collect it from a secret drop-point) once you're exalted (or whatever). /sigh .. oh well.

Well, if you think about it - there is a lot of sneak work going on, quests where you disguise yourself, get information, etc, etc. A lot of this is handled by the Knights of the Ebon hold and the Argent Crusade, where it could just as easily have been handled by KotEH and Ravenholdt (or equivalent) instead.

As you say though, sadly it's too late to lament about it now - maybe we should flood the Blizz suggestion box, requesting (not demanding - that's not the rogue style) Ravenholdt involvement in future expansions.

I'm thinking Scorpion, Cat, Snake or Raptor, those are the titles my rogue has IC depending on his spec.

Then again, when I think of what I just typed out, a snake mount would be seriously weird.

Would love a Ravenholdt line! I never liked the way the thread ended and should be made more interesting for the Rogues.
A stealth ride would be awsome.
