I just recently started playing WoW this weekend. Don't really know anything about WoW but I've played several different MMO's in the past so I'm not a complete newb. I really enjoy the Warrior so far.

My first question is what addons are the most useful for the Warrior class? I downloaded some quest helpers and some UI mods but I was looking for some suggestions on some Warrior specific addons.

Secondly, I made a dwarf Warrior. I rolled a dwarf mainly because I like the way the dwarfs look. The humans are crazy looking. They don't even look human. Am I going to run into problems later on because of this decision? Are there any real advantages or disadvantages for the dwarf race?

Third, what professions would benefit me the most? I know I get two.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am currently level 9 about to hit 10. If there is anything I should be working on to help me level please let me know.

the typical answer would be -- read the faq, but for the sake of kindness

addons -- i'll leave for someone else

races have little impact on the game. they are all so "ballanced" that if there were a playable kitten, it would be jut as good a war as your dwarf. pick waht you like and play :)

professions, take 2 gathering professions. mining/ herbalism would be my ick
do this since you are new, put all the gathered items up on the auction house -- look and see waht the others are going for and post yours too. you can concievably have a lvl 15 toon with over two hundred gold.

Thanks. I did read the faq's. It seemed a little outdated though.

I wouldn't worry about warrior specific add ons right now. maybe when you are 80.

since you are new to wow, I'd recommend taking mining and skinning. Sell all the things you mine and skin on the auction house. Later when you get more gold, you can switch to a crafting profession such as blacksmithing if you wish.

Dwarf is a fine choice for alliance warrior. They look good (not ridiculous like gnomes). And do have a racial that can be useful for tanking. The Night elf 1% dodge is nice, but not critical for tanking. Horde races get by just fine without that 1% dodge. And Night elves look terrible. green and blue hair- ugh. Dwarves ftw.

Sell all your ore and skins on the AH like I said, and try to keep your equipment up to date. With the new changes, you'll be levelling so fast, you're gear will get outdated fast. So try to find some reasonable gear (don't pay 80g for of the bear greens!) at the AH. I can sometimes find of the bear stuff for under 10g (plate that is- which you get to wear after 40). Reason why is good gear is very important for a warrior, moreso than other classes. Doing more damage helps you generate more rage, which allows you to use your special abilities to inflict even more damage so it doesn't take ages to kill a mob.

if any addons, a swing timer such as quartz will do you good if you are going down the Arms tree... practice timing your Slam...

macros will do you more good than addons...

blizzard warrior forums got a nice list of macros...

dont take any crafting skill until you are 70 ish...
take 2 gathering skills, sell everything... unless of course, you decide on being a BS, then you can prep some mats for later on... but you'll find that selling your gathered mats at early lvls will give you lots of gold.

human warriors are not too bad...
every man for himself... good for some fights and pvp
added rep gain makes farming faction gear faster...

but it's all the same down the line... just a matter of what you like...

Is a waste. You don't need to time slam to auto attacks anymore. Slam simply delays your next attack, which means it does not reset your swing. Simply use it when you have no other cool down to use for your global cool down.

They only addon I used to level was carbonite quest. It replaces your minmap with a map that gives you a ******* line and arrow that points to the spots where you need to go to finish/complete/do the quest. And that has nothing to do with class.

I really like mob health addons, so i can know generally what exact health mobs have. So I can decide to conserve precious rage or not to finish off mobs.
