I have yet to create a DK and to get used to it all. When looking here through the forums I notice that blood and unholy are way more popular than frost for leveling. Why? I like the concept of frost spec and all that comes with it, but I just can't seem to find anything about it for lvling. Anyone has any specs for frost, any tips, or any answers why frost isnt exactly THE leveling spec, let me know!

Well all I can say is that I leveled as blood, because it was what all the guides were saying was best.

The DPS was good and with the right spec and rotation you'll find you never have to eat and you will find it very hard to die lol with all the self healing you do.

You'll find yourself taking on 3-4 mobs at once and finishing up with max health. Its so easy it shouldn't be fair lol.

Try a blood spec, you will love it I think :)

I leveled as frost, but that doesn't make it THE leveling spec. The truth is that all DK trees are viable. Go with what feels right for you.

While this is true to a point, there are some things you can take into consideration while choosing.

First, just to restate what ohmikeghod said, all three trees are viable. DK's as a whole level better than most specs/classes by default. However, Blood and Unholy, at least for me, felt like they came into their own a little sooner than Frost. Blood's self-healing capabilities, paired with its damage and early maturity make it "the" leveling spec, IMO, with Unholy closely behind with its pet and AoE damage, followed by Frost.

That having been said, I am Frost now (at 76), I did most of my leveling as Frost simply because I liked it, and I've never had a problem with it.

So far, I have tried Blood and Unholy.

Now that I am in NR, I'm gonna try Frost.

Honestly, both of them are very, very good. Death Strike is, generally, more than enough healing (Blood is nice because you can do higher damage attacks instead, for better or similar healing).

Unholy will be slightly better for AoE, Blood for single targets and Frost for a mixture of the two (Howling Blast for AoE, additional mitigation and high damage attacks for single).

Just go however you want.

blood = never have to stop while levelling, ever.

unholy = better aoe and mount speed increase for multi-pulling and faster quest turn ins.

On a pale horse is amazing for levelling as all dk specs kill pretty well, so the main thing that bottlenecks levelling speed is the quest turn in/travel times. thats why you see a lot of unholy. as for blood its for people who like the easy way w/no bandages required.
Frost doesn't have a lot that make it great for levelling, its not a bad spec, it just doesn't have anything that makes levelling supurb like the other two do. you CAN level as it though.

Personally I say prebuild some specs, get advice on them, read the dps guides and see which talents are good and suck, and switch talents every few levels till you decide what you like.

I respecced 3 times, got a feel for each of the trees, and settled on Frost to finish out leveling 70-80. In my opinion each of the 3 specs had their upsides and down but with the exception of an occasional bandage with Frost I really never had to stop during questing or 5-mans.

Play around with different builds and find one you enjoy, you really can't go wrong.
