Ok so im prot i have 24.4k armor with dev aura 45%block with holy shield, 16%parry, and 18%dodge with around 23k hp

I was attemptin to tank a heroic up last night and i seemed to be getting hit hard it was my first ever heroic i tanked cause i have ran them all on my mage but for some reason i seemed to be gettin for like 4-5k a hit is that normal for a tank or am i doing something wrong i always had holy shield up and used a good rotation i thought but for some reason i was having aggro issues the whole time too. Im not sure what the prob was my rotation was
AS, HS, HOR, Judgement, Conc, And SOR, or HOR if needed. Rinse and repeat basically always keeping HS up

So idk whats wrong but my T7 healer said it was really hard to heal me. Any help would be awesome thanks

From your armory, the said Heroic was Azjol-Nerub (the trink you're wearing).

I've heard that is one of the harder instances, and in your gear, you should probably stick to the easier instances first, like VH, UK, etc.

Some suggestions:

1). Get the Breastplate of the Solemn Council. There are 3 Wyrmrest Dailies you can do every day, for about 700 rep per day and you only need Revered.

2). You might want to consider switching out that Mojo Ring; Attack Power and Armor Penetration don't help you much as a Prot Paladin. You could easily run normal Gun'drak for a tank ring if you haven't already, or if you have access to a jewelcrafter and/or a nice amount of money, there's the Titanium Earthguard Ring.

Otherwise, the gear looks good, looks like you got really damn lucky in Azjol-Nerub, TWO drops? That belt is hella sweet, I could only imagine having something like that. *grins*

But anyways, my suggestion to you is to try Heroic UK, you should be able to breeze that fairly easily.

Seal light, judge light. Use sacred shield on yourself. Keep shield up. Don't turn your back on mobs hitting you. Make sure you have a min of 535 defense.

Your avoidance is pretty low as is shield block% which means you're taking a lot of pure hits(unmitigated by block value). Not much you can do about this but continue looking for upgrades. Leveling a prof wouldn't hurt either, profs like jc/mining/enchanting all give nice stam boosts. Couple other things, make sure you have the glyph for seal of veng as your expertise is quite low which may also be contributing to you getting hit more(parry hasted effects and all)-reckoning isn't helping in that regard as well.

Which brings me to your spec; i'd definitely drop reckoning as well as benediction(pretty much a complete waste as you should have BoSanc on and if you're taking a lot of dam you will never have mana issues) and put 1 point into improved judgements. Cookie cutter 5/60/6 spec probably your best bet atm.

But keep in mind, certain mobs in heroics hit hard, tell your healer before hand to use bigger heals, especially for pulls with more than 3. For pulls you think may be a problem use your Divine protection as soon as you start taking dam. Use your hammer of judgement(stun) every cd as well. As to agro issues, make sure you have RF up 100%. Your rotation isn't in the best order either, pull with AS, drop cons when they get within 10yds, then HS+HotR+Judge+SoR+cons should be almost back up at this point. Then just alternate a long cd with a short one, ie '969' rotation.

4000 a hit isn't really that unusual. Heroics mobs in level 70 heroics used to hit for 4000 a hit. Expect most real trash (not the non-elite fillers) to 2 shot a clothie, so that's like 8000 on their armor.

Your avoidence is very low, with Holy Shield up you'll be taking tons of unblocked hits. That shouldn't be a deal-breaker for earlier heroics though as long as your healer it ontop of it. But consider that if a good heroic mob hits you for 4k and you can block 2k of that with all of your buffs up (which to be honest, they are the majority of the time) you're really only taking half damage.

Bottom line in heroics is that you WILL go down if you're AoEing and you don't get healed within 3 seconds -- barring any special abilities to keep you up longer. To smooth the situation out, make sure you HoJ one of the mobs or use a form a standard CC while you adapt.
