After about a 6 month hiatus, I joined some friends on a PvP server. While I do okay on the mobs and fairly well in instances, I seem sort of squishy when being attacked by other players. I havent respecced since I got back though

This is my current spec... www.wowhead.com/?talent=I0xrburAoVAoIstZV

any suggestions on how to balance between the PvP and PvE to increase my survivability while Im out questing?

I know little to nothing about pvp or affliction specs, so here are some obvious tips...

Quest with others. Don't have to be in a group, but stick together, if you can.
Travel in groups, so it's less likely for a single player to want to attempt to kill you.
Get higher resiliance.
Get a mount asap, so if needed, you can run.
Attempt to hide behind large terrain objects, when you spot someone of the other faction and hope they didn't spot you.
Flirt with the enemy. Attack when their guard is down.

Armory link? If you aren't equipped with the battleground purples, get them as soon as possible. Being twinked is always good for survuvability.

srsly? Find a friend who knows all the classes he plays by heart, loves open PVP and is always eager to help a friend (and kill some horde/alliance players while he's at it. And some more just for the fun of it).
He will keep the enemys busy so you can do a few quests. I had a very fun hour when a friend and I were harrassed by DKs in Scholazar and called in our friend. An hour full of questing, slaughter and laughter when I saw my first ever bubblehearth :D

You could always get better gear and refine your PVP skills, but remember:
If you have superior gear
and superior skill
and class advantage to your enemy
you are still likely to fall to the enemys friend who just happens to be nearby.

OpenPVP ain't fair. Live with it.
