So, the long awaiting/anticipated/feared Deep Wounds changes have begun ... and while it's a tone down in terms of damage - it's not quite that drastic, and it's not a blatant nerf. Even more importantly, it's not going to affect prot much (if at all).

What's happening currently is that all damage modifiers (such as enrage, death wish, 2h specialisation) are being considered when calculating the deep wounds damage to be applied, which in essence is fine. BUT, what's happening is that the actual bleed ticks are receiving damage boosts based on these modifiers as well, essentially resulting in the modifiers being applied twice for the bleed damage.

They've apparently hot-fixed this by removing the application of the modifiers to the actual bleed damage, while leaving the initial damage modifier, which first calculates how much DW damage should be done, intact. People should start seeing changes already (or at least very soon).

The reason it won't affect prot ... you don't (or can't, I suppose, or even shouldn't) pick up 2h spec as prot, and you won't have deathwish ... ok, ok, you have an enrage, but that's why I said it should affect prot MUCH.

Why did they go the route of tracking down and repairing the bugs first? ... well, aside from the obvious (you don't want bugs in the system), they are actively looking at ways of buffing Arms Damage, and didn't want to start working on/applying buffs while bugs were present, essentially damaging the potential buffs.

So really, it's good news .. Yes, I know it's a damage reduction, but it's a bug fix, not a conscious and active nerf is the talent.

I'll post more as I see it (and if it hasn't been presented already by others)

Edit
Just noticed the Rogue changes ... Mace Spec is getting a haste buff, Savage combat is being changed from 1%/2% to 2%/4%. We can only assume that the warrior counterparts will be receiving the same buff (note, this is an assumption)
