Feign broken on Malygos fight?Follow

Have I missed something stating that part of the mechanic here is that we are unable to feign death? I know we gain no threat standing in the voids but they are rarely ever far enough from his HUGE hitbox to be of any use.

I've heard that it is broken, although I've never seen confirmation from Blizzard, and with a few hotfixes since it's breaking, they haven't addressed it.

But I'll say this: It has never, not once, ever worked for me on Malygos. It's a real pain.

I believe you still produce threat whilst in sparks. The extra damage coupled with the Feign Death bug makes rolling MDs on the tank a must. A good way to keep your threat low is to not attack during the Vortex, or if you do attack swap on Aspect of the Viper.

I don't know about this boss fight but I have noticed that FD gets resisted... A LOT.

I had it resisted by lvl trash 69 mobs the other day while grinding. How does a 69 mob resist a 72 player FD. Never had the issue of mobs 3 levels lower than me resisting FD prior to LK. Maybe FD got a code re-write and it bugged Malygos as well as normal use. Dunno, just postulating here.

This is based off of completely anecdotal evidence, but it seems that since 3.08, the "timer" on FD has been lengthened. Before the patch, you could pretty much hit FD and then jump right back up. Sometimes, if you did it too fast, it would bug out and not reset threat.

It seems like that time has been increased. It could be lag on my part or something, but I just find that I need to stay down for almost one or more seconds. This isn't the case with Maly though, as I've stayed down for like 5 seconds without it doing anything.

The weird thing is that while FD is bugged, vanish and soulshatter seems to not be. I'm not gonna lie though, it makes the fight a lot more fun when you need to dps and keep an eye on Omen :D.

That may be the case in my case as well ZM. I too am used to the FD/Hop back up thing. Maybe I'm not playing dead long enough. I'll watch myself more closely now... hmmm.

More hunters and roguesy makes it a bit better. I just spend my vortex time in viper and don't fire anything. This usually lets me go full out for most of a ground phase.
