DW pvp spec?Follow

#1 Feb 03 2009 at 1:09 AM Rating: Decent
Okay, so I was wondering if there are any DW pvp specs out there?

I'll be doing 2v2 arena with a ret pally and was wanting to know if this kind of spec would be viable. If you have another spec which you think would go with a ret pally better that doesn't include DW, please post it.

DW is fail for PvP. You want to maximize your burst damage in PvP, thus DW is inherently inferior.

Try my DK's spec. Deep Unholy is generally the way to go for PvP.

Most in 2v2 are either using 0/20/51 or the 21/0/50 build that I'm using.

How is DRW for PvP Theo?

Maybe something like this

I'm still working out what glyphs to use.

I would move Sudden Doom/Butchery to WotN/Blade Barrier.

Or if you're set on keeping Butchery (it doesn't do much in short PvP matches), possibly switch Sudden Doom to WotN/Blood Aura.

As far as glyphs go, AMS/IBF/BS. I don't know that you can debate it. You might be able to push for Oblit instead of IBF, but you're really only using Oblit/DS to grab death runes so you can HS more.

I'm not going to speak from experience as blood pvp because I never got the hang of it/think unholy is just plain better. So this may or may not pertain to the poster.

I would strongly consider the blood boil gylph. That 50% AE snare after a pestilence is just dirty. Its also plain dirty when chasing down a priest/paladin who burned freedom. They cant dispel it. Has won us countless matches to get to our 2k rating tonight.

I would run Oblit/BS/Blood boil gylph. 2 seconds on the AMS especially if your partner is a healer doesn't do it for me (im running with a prot pally even and dont find a need for the 2 seconds). When it was at a full 10 seconds, and not 7, I enjoyed it, but not now. 20% damage on all your attacks (oblit and HS) and that snare is just dirty.

So I can say from an Unh perspective, Gylph of Blood boil is the ****. It does mesh well converting to death runes, but I have to think it would be great for blood as well. 20k Ghoul sac heals should make up for 2 seconds of AMS.

My 2cp.

It's not worth it in an arena situation. In those, you're either going to be putting up CoI or you're going to have your partner snaring so you can put up IT instead.

And in BGs, it's not worth wasting a glyph slot.

Seriously, if you PvP and you don't have the AMS glyph, you're wasting a glyph slot. It's easily the best glyph that we can get in PvP.

After that, it's just up to you where you want your other two glyphs. I personally go with BS/IBF as Blood, and SS/IBF as Unholy.
