I put them on my main bar, so it's not a problem here, but I'd assume they're still a problem elsewhere

Yes... those seem to reset to auto-cast at will, as do a couple of other talents I like to keep on "manual fire". I'm just so thrilled that they fixed the attack hitch with all of the breath weapon pets, the auto-cast hadn't been bugging me as much. LOL

It isnt just prowl anc cower that are haveing buggy performance. I have on my pet bar, Growl, Cower, Prowl, and Dash. I leace Claw, Rake and Rabid on auto cast in the spell book. I have noticed several occasions where they will get turned off. So the bug is not limited to prowl or cower, anything in the pet spell book appears to be capable of flipping out.

I also have seen on different alts that just one has a problem with the bugs yet all with a cat have the spells in the same places and are roughly the same level ?

I can see why they are having a problem fixing it with that happening to me as it seems to be something other than just the spells being bugged but more to do with some other change they made ? perhaps our extra pet slots ?

Whatever it is i bet there are people pulling their hair out trying to fix it.
