I was looking and trying to find some kind of formula. SO i could refer it to my current stats and see if what i can improve on. Ive found a couple simple ones from elitistjerks, but they only say things like
"1 Str = 2.332 AP (2.5652 AP) (Cat)
1 Str = 2.12 AP (2.332 AP) (Bear)
1 Str = 2.2472 AP (2.47192 AP) (Bear with PotP)"

but im thinkin of something like an equation (not to try and sound like some kind of math nerd) something like

the ap should equal about 3 1/2 times your crit chance, etc.
im not sure if theres anything like this out there, i've already checked out the obvious main posts and guides, but havent seen anything yet.

i know you need ap, crit, hit, but im not sure how much in relation to each other. Or should i just be doing it by eye?(checking the numbers of my hits, counting how many times i miss. how many crits i get)

You should be using Rawr and saving yourself a lot of trouble. :D

I agree that Rawr is a fanatic tool to use. You can also reference this site http://druid.wikispaces.com/ToskksDPSGearMethod. It shows graphes with regards to when to use Strength over Crit in gear/gem selection.

You should also get a damage counter, I use Recount, to track what kind of DPS you are doing.
