I'm going to do the usual preemptive apology if some of this was asked already, more so if a thread in the sticky does have this information. I'm having a hard time finding it anywhere. The majority of information seems to be on how to gear, and I'm more interested in several other

1. How exactly does Bonus Healing apply to our HoT spells, particularly ones such as Regrowth or Lifebloom, where there's a burst heal with the HoT? I'm assuming that with spells such as Rejuv or WG, it's just spread over the time of the entire heal.

2. A lot of the gear I have is stuff I collected while doing quests as a feral before I switched to Rejuv (I was planning on waiting until dual spec, but I really just wasn't finding dungeons as a kitty to be particuarly enjoyable - the rotation was just too much for me to handle). This had led to a general lack of knowledge of how to gear. I've gotten most of it down by now, and definitely know what is good or not for a Resto Druid. I still have a couple questions though:

(Also Armory link in case that helps: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Exodar&n=Cbd I'm aware the idol isn't meant for healing, I'm just trying to figure out the best way to go about getting one, and it looks like my only solution is Grizzly Hills)

A) Is a staff considered the weapon of choice still? I understand that my goal isn't damage anymore, I'm just wondering at what point (if ever) I'm better off ditching the staff for a Main Hand weapon and Off Hand item. I'm sure there's a combination of the two now that will be more beneficial to my stats, but I'd still like to know exactly how weapons work.

B) What +Healing should I be aiming for before I do heroics? As of right now I have 1104 unbuffed in tree form. I definitely plan on doing some regular dungeons to upgrade my head, necklace, rings, and trinkets before regularly doing heroics for any upgrades those will provide, but I'd still like to be able to help a(n) (ex-)guildie in one if they ask. For some reason I have the number 1400 in my head.

I'm sure I had more, but that's ok. I'll either get over it, figure them out myself, or maybe ask them here. I greatly appreciate any help you guys provide. I've always been rather nervous about playing a healer in a game, some silliness about keeping everyone alive, but the mechanics behind Druid healing just seem like a lot of fun to me. I dislike traditional healing, but I feel like there's a lot of potential here.

copypasta from wowwiki:

Healing Touch = 100%
Rejuvenate = 80%
Regrowth Direct Heal = ~30%
Regrowth HoT = 70%
Lifebloom HoT = 51.8%
Lifebloom Final Heal = 34.29%
Tranquility = 73%

As far as the weapon question, I generally find that I get more benefit from a one handed weapon (normally mace) with an offhand. I am not a guru on the staves available to us in all of Wrath, but I am still using mace/offhand compared to any staff I have come across.

For plus healing with heroics I think it depends on your spell power, your skill, and largely on your tank also. You can heal something that would normally be a bit rougher if you have a very skilled/geared tank. This is a potential way to gear up a bit on a heroic that might be a bit above your gear. As far as a specific number I had been resto prior to wrath and pretty high spell power out of the gates when I started heroics (a fair bit above 1100 pretty sure, can't remember the exact number). The 1400 number you mentioned should be more than enough in my opinion.

I would not base your readiness solely on spell power, but rather a combination of the right glyphs (Swiftmend, Regrowth, Your choice), your in-combat mana regeneration (aim for 270+), your rotation and your tank.

Like SirMikey said, hard heroics can be trivialized by an excellent tank, even if you're undergeared. The rotation I generally use is casting a lifebloom on the tank as soon as he casts an aoe/threat spell/ability, then regrowth,rejuv and lifebloom again. Nourish if hurting (below 70% ish) til near full, then make sure lifebloom and rejuv stay up and heal with nourish as necessary and wildgrowth on the party if you take aoe damage.

Just from your profile, obvious upgrades would include any item that doesnt have Spirit or Mp/5 on it which include your - Helm, Neck, Hands and Shoulders. Your spellpower does seem slightly low as well, but don't forget to gem your cloak with spell power and get enchants on your weapon and bracers/hands (+96 +gem).

Look for groups that are doing Heroic Nexus for a large healing mace upgrade and save badges for the off-hand healing item. H Drak'Keep has a couple really nice healing rings and a neckpiece from H Culling of Strath.

Here is the link to a site that can help you find gear for a Resto build. I am spec'd feral and am using it to build a healing set for when the dual spec thing comes out (if ever). It can give you an idea of what is out there and where to get it.

There are other posts on EJ that might help you with spell rotations as well.
