Hi everyone this is my first time posting (long time reader though),

I am trying to break into Naxx and I keep getting snubbed. I mostly try to get in PUGs b/c the guild I am in does not have 10 level 80s on at a consistent basis to run 10-man raids. I think my gear is good enough to get considered (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Azuremyst&n=Ballour). Any suggestions on gear optimization would be helpful too. I have run Naxx once before (only the military wing and got something) and I run heroic 25-man Archavon whenever someone tries to put a group together.

Any suggestions on how to get in on more Naxx raids? Are rogues picked over for mages, hunters, etc. that have better AOE damage abilities? I just want to raid a bit more and unfortunately I have to rely that a PUG picks me up.

Thanks.

BTW. I got my T7.5 gloves off 25-man heroic archavon if you were curious on how I got them.

I'm pretty sure anyone that has raided knows where they drop :P

Anyways, your gear is more than on par to run Naxx. I see people in our raids that don't have as good of gear as you and We full clear 3 wings in Heroic Naxx in about 2 1/2 hours while taking breaks in between each wing.

My only gear suggestions to you would be running Heroic Gun'drak for the ring/pants. It is a fairly easy instance and you have a chance of two pieces you need dropping off of the last boss. I suggest that mainly because MOST people don't know a lick about other classes and only judge you by how many epics you have.

As for getting into Naxx. You might want to try looking for a raiding guild. IMO the best bet would be to get a "young" raiding guild that way they aren't already clearing 3D Sarth and Malygos. It will get your foot in the door and a raiding spot.

If your server is lacking guilds that raid and need rogues you might want to consider a transfer. I personally transferred over to Proudmoore to get in a guild that only had 2 rogues in it. Also, I get to bug Therion all day everyday Muahahahah.

As for taking rogues over mages/hunter/shamans. Blizzard has made it where you take the player instead of class for the most part. So, it really doesn't matter what class you take, but considering noone CCs anymore rouges aren't as in demand as heavy AOE classes.

Good luck on your journey to get into Naxx,
Feyras

Thanks for the advice. I will try to run Gun'Drak; however, this instance seems to give most of the PUGs I join a hard time, especially the snake boss. I think out of five times that I have been there; I have only finished this instance once.

If your failure became before your success you should have the tank/healer on your friends list :P

What is your strategy? We normally tank him in the doorway and have the healer on the ledge above the water. That allows the tank to pick up the aggro before it comes to the healer. Also, I have normally been the only melee in the group. When they come out you could always ToT the tank and spam FoK to aoe them down if your lacking aoe.

I would mainly hunt for a new guild if I were you though. Obviously you are wanting to raid and you guild as a whole isn't that interested in raiding. So, it doesn't seem the best fit for you.

Agreed. Gear and spec look fine. You might consider Feyrrrais's (how DO you spell that BTW???) advice and consider finding a new guild or at least a regular raid group. PUGs in general are slow to take rogues right now as they're viewed as slightly broken by the general community and with the over-flow of DPS available, it's just easier for PUG raid leaders to take someone else. Sucks, but /shrug.

Keep up the heroic runs and start a good friends list. Heck, why not start your own Naxx PUG?

Good luck!
