Alright ever since the patch the best DPS I've been able to do is 2.3k on a boss fight isnce the nerf. (Pet included.) My gear is pretty good I have enough marks and I'm about to buy a t7 chestpiece and the only real upgrade left for me is my trinket and helmet. I have a nice DPS spec but I just can't see what I'm doing wrong? How in god's green earth am I suppose to get 4k dps?

What type of numbers are you guys pushing?

5k on Patchwerk
5.5k on Thaddius, had to move a lot last time.
6k on Loetheb

It's probably mostly your spec pots. It's really not very good. Not horrible, but not great

You also have a lot of gear you can upgrade yet.

Patchwerk 5590 dps http://wowwebstats.com/fh1h35yugcsz3?a=xf3ea5d&s=354178-390998

I wouldn't use Thaddius as any kind of indicator because of the mechanic but since it was mentioned, 7500 dps.

It has to be said that that is 25 man and a 2 min 45 sec kill (nicely done btw :) )
I myself reached 3739 dps on Patchwerk in a 4 min 14 sec 10 man kill, which is a lot less amazing.
Had we done the kill in 2 min 45 sec I would have been well over 4k dps.
As the shorter a fight takes, the more impact cooldowns such as Rapid Fire and Call of the Wild make on your dps.
For Kden the fight's length was also good because he could use his trinkets twice giving him an uptime of 40/165 seconds, Or 24.2%. (trinket used somewhere between 0-25 seconds and between 120-145 seconds)
Where I had 50/254 (used my trinket at 4 seconds, 124 sec, 244 sec) = 19.7% uptime.

Alright I'm preparing another hunter in our guild for raiding (as of now I'm the only one raid ready) Assuming that we would have him soon I spec'ed MM for trueshot and I was going to force him to roll SV for hunting party but heck if it's that much of a difference I'm going SV too. Then we can change one of our two unholy DKs into blood for abominations might.

Does anyone know if HP buff stacks?

Also, longer fights = Viper, big dps drain.

This.

I haven't done a Patchwerk fight yet as SV. I hadn't respecced yet the last time we fought him, but did 3600 as 11/53/7 MM in 10 man last week on Patch. So I'm eager to see how SV compares. Then again, with readiness, I had rapid fire/trinket up 4 times (well, rapid 4 times, trinket on 2 of them) in that fight. Having a SV hunter there for a (albeit small) mana battery didn't hurt.

Viper uptime is what kills DPS. The nice thing about SV, is I rarely have to go in Viper (if I even have to pot for that matter), and even when I do, it's for shorter periods.

Raid comp can make a difference too. In 10 mans, it's very hard to get all the goodies. That particular Patch fight, I had both might and kings working for me. That isn't always the case.

Not if you have JoW.
JoW+Replenishment+TotH with an average of 50% crit on specials = not running OoM anytime soon.

I don't believe it does. But it's always up. Since I respecced, for 10 mans there's 2 of us as SV spec, neither has more than 3-4 points in it. It's always up either way. Debating going 2/5 due to that.

It shouldn't but apparently on live servers it does right now.

Hey Aethien can you like you build? I can't find you on the armory.

Tricky to find because:

1. EU server
2. Freaky character in the name 'Æ'

I rocked 4070 DPS on Patch25 tonight, which I'm happy with, as it was my first time getting to bring my hunter to 25s, using a rotation with Aimed Shot and a slightly suboptimal spec (have to bring replenishment, and haven't respecced to take a point out of IAotH since I've gotten a lot more haste). I think that an ilvl 213 or 226 ranged weap will make a huge difference (we had to quit early due to lag; here's to hoping for KT gun on Thurs).

My WWS Report for last night

25 Man Naxx 1/28/09

Maexxna I was getting people out of the webs on the walls, so DPS took a small dive.

Kel'Thuzad I was a noob, and my pet died within the first minute of actually engaging him, and I never got him back up, so that was a big chunk of dps I was missing.

Although the rest of it I feel pretty good about. Obviously I need just a smidge more hit, as well as a few other upgrades I'm working on Smiley: tongue
