My apologies if anyone has already mentioned this, but I was interested to see what people thought was the best tanking weapon enchant. The only posts mentioning it seem to be pre-Wrath.

I've seen tanks with the Titanium weapon chain, Mongoose, Battlemaster as well as some Potency, Agility and Accuracy enchants.

Does anyone have a definitive answer, or is it just a matter of each to their own?

Many thanks (or should that me many tanks?).

I personally use the Titanium weapon chain, it's affordable and gives you pretty good bang for your buck.

Accuracy is better for threat, but the cost of mats makes it ridiculously high in cost overall.

Mongoose is still a very strong contender, as it helps with avoidance and some threat.

Potency, battlemaster and agility, imo, fall behind the curve in functionality. Agility not so much, it's not all that great for avoidance, armor or threat.

Executioner though, is interesting to me still. 120 armor pen rating ~= 7.7% armor pen proc at 80 source. This seems like a lot to me still. And it's something I've thought about parsing against 28 hit rating.

The only thing is, Hit rating is suburb for threat. Best bang for your buck other than expertise.

What I'd like to see blizz put out is a straight expertise enchant.

That's kind of harsh considering it's extra avoidance.

I Lol'd at this one.

What gold?
You can easily farm the amount of gold needed to buy the mats in under an hour....
Or, you can grab your guild enchanter for a 1/2 hour and plow through any of the level 70 heroics and DE drops for the mats.

120 agility with frequent procs is hardly worthless.

It's the truth. Your best choice out of current enchants is Potency because it gives you more threat. All Mongoose does is give you an incredibly lackluster haste increase as well as an agility proc which won't even provide that much more avoidance and becomes quickly irrelevant.

It's not terrible, it's actually shown to be better avoidance than the agi enchant, but it's on a proc. I personally don't feel that it's all that good either, and there are better choices for weapons that are easier to get. My thoughts would be weapon chain until you get a good weapon, and then throw down the gold for Accuracy. Once I get Last Laugh to drop, I'll enchant it with Accuracy without a second thought.

I m curently testing Lifeward enchant.

I dont know if its good or bad. So far Ive seen it proc every 9 auto attacks (average) .

I m not thrilled about it and thinking of changing to something else.

The titanium weapon chain is affordable in AH. I remeber buying it for 50 g to test it but now I have so many + hit gear that I really dont 'need' that stat so bad.

During 70 's raids I used potency for the nice Green color it gives to a weapon ( besides the nice Strength stat) and the only reason for not putting potency at the moment is cause I pitty the 3-4 abyss Crystals I paid for lifeward :(

1 Abyss Crystal =200-300gold on my server!!!

(I like the DK 's 'enchants?Runes?' they can place on their weapons. I m not speaking of their uselfulness but the effect they make.)

I ll check executioner in the future...

Lifeward is pretty terrible in actual use, but I plan on throwing it on my Red Sword once I get a real weapon simply because I want it for when I solo old content, which is something I do pretty regularly now. It's fun going back and killing old 40 man raid bosses that I haven't really seen in years by myself.

Sorry for the almost necro, but I was doing some reading, clicking links, reading... and saw this;

Uhm... 1/5 deflection?

I don't really want to be a jerk about it, but I kinda laughed when I saw it.

It's called a misclick while speccing in a hurry and have been to lazy to fix it.

Will probably be there until Dual specs hit but thanks for looking and taking an interest.

Yes, it appears that blood draining is a very strong choice for tanks.

I would use potnecy(YES POTNECY)becuase str increases Block, and AP which increases dmg which Increases threat a little, but its rare...use Weapon chain until you can find it,blood draining is really good though.

I have seen tank DKs with this problem, they will dual weild and put POTNECY on their weapons saying they need more block...i kick them out of the raid immeditatly,i hate to kick people, but DKs that think they need block are either a 5year old,or someone who thinks they now all about everything and when people actually do listen to them wipe thousands of raids...

Hm,i think i missunderstood what you said lol.
