Noob shaman wonders when/where/how to get relics to put in the relic slot? Very grateful for help!
the first relic(Totem) a shaman can obtain is the Totem of Rage which is dropped by Magnus in BRD. It is placed in the slot that most other classes have for a ranged item(wand/bow/gun etc)
If you dont get to do BRD on your leveling journey, there is a Questin Late hellfire that yields a Relic(totem).

redbarron is correct. Further to this there is one you can get from a vendor in Zangarmarsh using the tokens you get from capturing the bases in HFP.
Chances are you will not get the one out of BRD but once you reach Outland you shouldn't have much trouble picking one up.
