So i finally did an old world raid. Solo! I soloed Onyxia as prot spec. It was pretty easy.I know this isnt that big an achievment but it still is amazing to me. And the sad thing is i got an upgrade......the bag. !8 slots beats out my 16 slot netherweaver. Anyways just wanted to say that. Have a good weekend!

Just wondering, if i never did this quest line earlier and didn't get the drakefire amulet to get into Onyxia's lair. Is there still a way to do this, seems they have removed the quest line from the game.
There is no attunement for Onyxia anymore. You can just walk right in.
Yeah after I made post I did some research and walla, still gotta be in a raid group. But i soloed her to, took about 50 minutes. No bubble, no LoH. Just a long, long grind. To me 2nd phase is toughest.
But i would say all together about 140 gold, 58 straight and the gear disenchants, couple blue BoE, really nice ones for lower levels. So not to bad of a run. I will be doing that once a week now. :)

Gratz! I've been poking around classic/TBC content. I've been trying out TBC dungeons. I've cleared the 3 in hellfire citadel and the 3 in Zangarmarsh. I heard of a lot of people trying solo Onyxia and succeeding, but I'm not sure if a holy pally could do it...any thoughts?

I attempted Onyxia yesterday. I found you needed to be in a raid group to even let you in the instance so i invite a guildie so I could convert to raid (she wasn't there with me). I cleared the trash and started on Onyxia. I beat her down to about 660k but then the guildie signed off and i was ported. =(. The second attempt I made sure the other member was going to be on for awhile and i managed to kill Onyxia with very little trouble...took about 25 min. I got all kinds of screenshots, i was happy with that and also all the loots! I got to DE like 4 purples and another 3 blue boe items were sent to my AH alt, 57g and the 18 slot bag that I found a home for in my bank. Needless to say that Onyxia will be on my 'to do' list each week. More than 100g for a half hour's work? Sign me up!

you can do it in any spec

1. i always use healing gear, no mater the spec
2. if spec = tank then timer = 15 minutes
3. if spec = holy then timer = 30 minutes at least
4. if spec = retri then timer = 15-20 minutes
the reason for taking so long on holy spec is because you only have 3 spells to do damage, compared to retri or tank
i used healing gear to heal myself when needed, without worrying about mana issues.

Grats! I took a long time getting to 80th because I like to do stuff like this. The Achievement system is my bane... :) As soon as Wrath was released I decided to see if I could solo all of the old world Instances, and made it up to UBRS where I found I couldn't get past the first mini-boss because one person can't channel him out of his stasis. Now I'm 80th I'll probably see about the remaining, and then work on BC content. But only after the Lunar Festival and Love is in the Air! They overlap by a couple days, have to wrap up Lunar early.
