I just got "out-rolled" by an alt in a naxx run for Embrace of the Spider!
Arcane is awesome btw, pulled 4.6k on Patch (10) with no scorch/winter's chill (could you imagine an extra 10% crit? /drool) I'm shooting for 5.5k next week on patch (25)

Ouch! That sucks.
That trinket's pretty much the last thing in Naxx 25 I'm completely drooling over(I'd like some new pants and shoulders, but no rush on either).

I've been considering the switch myself, but we had one other mage already go arcane(4k DPS on Archavon). The third mage in our 25s isn't a full timer, so I really can't count on someone else to keep up the Imp Scorch, so I go ahead and do it. Not to mention that I'm the only mage in our 10 man, so either I do it or no one does. I may later come to the conclusion that I'd rather have higher personal DPS instead of buffing the raid, but I'm still really enjoying FF, so for now I'm keeping it.
I do need to get more crit, though. My crit took a beating with the new OH I got today. But I did get my 4pc T7 bonus, so there's always that to be happy about.
Also, re-reading WWS, I know why my DPS seemed low tonight. Our shaman was using Searing Totem instead of Flametongue.

Perhaps I should introduce you to my sword's 520 spellpower, 48 haste and 37 Critical Strike.
Thats why you havent gotten the Embrace of the Spider Poldaran, you have been doing the loot dance in Naxx 25 and it drops from Maexxna in Naxx10. Of course Gluth can also drop it in 10man Naxx.

I've been running both, actually. Hadn't seen it in either, so I was thinking it was in 25 with its sexiness.
Poldaran I'm afraid if you introduced me to that I wouldn't be around long enough to be in aww at its gloriousness before I was obliterated by its pure shine. x.x Nice none the less though.
So what's the skinny on the new hotfix to the AB buff? No more ABarr getting the 60% buff or w/e. ='( At least that's what I've heard.

It's a bug fix. Before, you could use Arcane Barrage before the end of an AM channel and get the AB debuff's extra damage on both. Now, if you cast AM, the AB damage increase is used in the AM, so you can't double dip on a single AB's debuff.
I guess people were stacking to a 2-3 stack and double dipping to buff both's damage while not having to use the mana needed to restack.
Edit: Seems like it would have been hella OP in PvP. Like to a ridiculous degree.

Another nerfs/changes with Arcane (will be pasted into my arcane thread):
AM no longer gains benefit from the arcane blast glyph debuff (instead of 15/30/45 it used to go 20/40/60)
Arcane blast glyph gives 3% (18/36/54) instead of 5%
You can no longer clip AM with Abarr to get the 5th tick of AM and Abarr to get the + effect.

Maybe if you could get 2 or 3 AB's off on a single person before they realize it (which wouldn't be hard in BG's). I'm gonna try it out when I can. I hit 80 the other day and threw on a few epics and was excited to see 11k AB's and a 13k ABarr (max crits) 9k and 10k are the normal high's.
When you get something good, it's gotta get nerfed...I has a sad.
And yet another way how arena/pvp has ruined the pve game!
I didn't even get to try it in 25man Naxx this week. I did great in 10man and kicked butt on VoA (25 and 10)

Funny how some bugs can go 4 years (ie: vanish, blink) and things like glyph of holy light or arcane missile clipping gets hotfixed within days.
I wouldn't say this was necessarily nerfed because of PVP though, it was probably nerfed because it was putting out much higher PVE numbers then they expected and it was because of a bug. I can't imagine people were stacking AB and using lots of arcane missiles in PVP because they root you in place for so long. Maybe missile barrage procs when they're up, but the sort of PVE rotation that was discussed before, I doubt it was as viable in PVP because you don't want to stand still that long, and you don't want to spend so much time exposing your main casting tree to kicks/cs's/shocks. Arcane is the worst tree to get locked out of as well, since polymorph and CS are both arcane spells. It hurts for a frost mage to get CS'd on a frost spell, but it *really, really* hurts an arcane mage to get CS'd on an arcane spell.

Oh noes!! The glass cannon was back and fully enjoyable, can't have those big numbers anymore!! I don't know how I feel about it yet because I haven't had a chance to play it yet (24 hour duty days suck, but it's all good since I'm in Japan and the servers were down during prime time playing).
It was good while it lasted. No more 4k AM ticks. I has a sad, again. I wonder what they'll nerf next. Mage's haven't had anything cool, or worth a damn in a while and this was one thing we had going for us. Mirror Image is subpar at most, until the threat fix, which still doesn't make all that exciting since they just stand there and look stupid (imo). lol I'm just at a loss for words atm, I think I'm gonna go read some more about this new rotation in hopes I can still keep the dps high.
